INTRODUCTIONResort management is an integral part of hospitality and lodging industry. It includesspas, casinos, hotels and ski resorts. There are several mangers indifferent sections within hoteland resort and handle several facilities and activities for customers related to food and beverage,maintenance, accommodation, etc.In this business, customer’s play a very crucial roleasentire profitability is largely depends upon buyer’s satisfaction (Airey and Chong, 2010).Hence,it is very important for management to acknowledge actual demand and requirement ofcustomers regarding services and facilities in the resort for delivery. The success of effectiveresort management depends upon proper coordination among stakeholdersand services whichdelivers to customer.The present report provides detailed knowledge and understanding about resortmanagement and its several functions which is operated by managers. Quality systems whichuses in the resort and hotel have been also discussed with respect of Thomas Cook Group.It is aBritish Global Travel Company which serves tour and travelling services to customers.TASK 11.1 Various functions of Resort OperationsCoordination and handling various stakeholders-This is important function of resortmanagement under which management must meet the requirement of vendors, suppliers foreffective return on inventory. In this aspect, Thomas Cook has to make effective coordinationand handle vendor activities so they can perform their responsibilities in effective manner. Theysupply raw material and goods to company in negotiated prices and costs.Health and safety issue-It is another significant function of resort to make sure that food ishygienic and environment is safe and secure (Albaladejo-Pina and Díaz-Delfa, 2009). Allequipment, facilities, infrastructure and atmosphere should manage in such manner as employeesand guest cannot get any harm and injuries. Furthermore, company should follow all legislationsand laws that is related to health and safety of customers.Provide high quality of services and good- Organisation should provide high quality offacilities and services to its customers.
