Web Application Development on Online Job Portal

This report depicts the details operational and functional capabilities of a job portal that has been developed. The job portal is referred to as a website that is dedicated for information regarding the recruitment and the job seekers. The different modules those are available in this developer web application are admin, employer and the jobseekers. The overall web application is build based on PHP and the MySQL server.

1. Introduction
This report depicts the details operational and functional capabilities of a job portal that
has been developed. According to the current scenario there is a rat race for each and every
professional field. This approach is also possible for the job market. The job portal is referred to
as a website that is dedicated for information regarding the recruitment and the job seekers. The
job portal that was developed is helpful for both the job seekers and for those who are searching
for employees for any particular designation. This job portal or the web application is build upon
the PHP language. It gives the candidates an opportunity to register to this portal. They are
allowed to search for jobs and they are also allowed to manage the portal on a timely manner.
This web application is free of cost it means that the users who will be registered to the
system are not required to give any kind of cost or charges. On the other hand there is option for
those also who are willing to publish their job requirements in their companies. The home pages
of the web application shows the registration and login options. The candidates who are already
registered are not required to register again they can directly login to the application. Each
candidate will have their own account and the accounts will be keeping secure with strongly
protected password. None of the unauthorized users will be able to access the portal of other
candidate. Moreover, it can be said that with the successful implementation of the web
application the candidate who are searching for jobs will be able to take try their luck in different
interviews based upon their own choice.

2. Discussion points
2.1 Project Description
The registered employees have the ability to insert rather add or remove job for their own
organizations theses available job opportunities will be available to the rest of the candidates
who are searching for the job. Even they can also contact to the person who are offering the jobs.
The main purpose of the job portal is to design a user friendly portal where the applicants can
search for jobs very easily and these are accessible to everyone who is interested.
The different modules those are available in this developer web application are admin,
employer and the jobseekers. The admin are the authorized people who are allowed to control the
entire network of the web application. The employers are those who create vacancies. Last but
not the least the job seekers are the person who sell applies for the jobs.
2.2 Project outcome
It is expected that with the successful implementation of the web application the job
applicant’s will be able to get a secured portal where they can search for jobs. The admin of the
job portal is responsible to manage the entire work network and all its operation. On the other
hand there is option for those who are willing to give job requests for their companies. This
application is absolutely secured and user friendly in nature which implies that the person who
are not that much technically skilled can also use this portal for searching hob vacancies.
2.3 Technical overview
The overall web application is build based on PHP and the MySQL server. The coding is
done on JavaScript and for connecting the modules the PHP MySQL database is used. In order
to show the location of the companies a Goggle Application Programming interface is also used

for developing the incorporating the Google e map in the web application. Google has provided
us a key to activate the Google map. The technical applications those are used include CSS and
HTML.
2.4 Personal contribution
In order to develop the web application I had gone through vast investigation on PHP
SQL database and JavaScript are needed.
2.6 Obstacles encountered
During the development of the web application certain obstacles I had faced, I did not
have enough knowledge regarding PHP MySQL thus I had faced difficulties.
2.7 Future attempts
In the upcoming future for long-term sustainability of the web application different
additional technical applications can also be integrated in the system for delivering a user
friendly web application to the users.
