INTRODUCTION
Business sector is changing & is evolving with period of time. In this competitive era, it
has become important to focus on leadership style and role so that organisational goals are
accomplished in proper manner. It is difficult for an organisation to carry out their functions &
operations in proper manner (Buil, 2019). With this increase of competition in business field, a
leader's role has increased at wider scale. In market, uncertainty is bound to occur which makes it
essential for entity to have effective leader who can deal with such situations. Main aim of this
report is to understand the impacts of COVID 19 on leadership styles due to uncertainties. To
examine uncertain situations it is necessary to scan market & conduct a deep analysis so that
emerging trends & changing situations are properly determined (Alonso, 2020). Analysis of
these business situations is crucial so that strategies are implemented accordingly by leader.
With use of tactics & strategies it is easy to accomplish short & long term objectives within
period of time. Hilton Hotel, a multinational hotel & resorts hospitality industry headquartered in
U.S. The hotel operates at global level and has many branches such as U.K, India, Australia etc.
There are also various types of competitors like Hyatt,Marriott, IHG & Loews Hotel. This report
comprises of overview of chosen hotel, key management leadership theories & models, critical
analysis of management & leadership theories, critical analysis of current leadership strategies
& recommendations.
MAIN BODY
A. Briefly Introduce the organisation
Hilton Hotel, a global brand & hotel service providers a largest group of hotels
headquartered in U.S. It was founded by Conrad Nicholsan Hilton in May 31, 1919. It is also to
be considered as one of the most fortune hotels of all time according to Future Magazine. The
hotel legacy is old around 101 years. It has expanded its business around the world. It also is
being considered as best hotel to provide satisfactory to both employees & customers at higher
scale. There are around 584 Hilton Hotels & resorts properties with 216,3179 room that are
franchised with 77,451 rooms in 2019 (Fischer, 2016). It mostly targets business as well as
leisure travellers locations such as city centres, near airports, conventions centres & many
popular destination across the world. Hilton Worldwide is known to be parent enterprise. This
hotel is cost expensive as they deliver & provide quality of services to customers as well as

guests with wide number alternative options. Different types of services & amenities provided
by them are WI-FI availability, lodging, events hosting, car parking, personal room service,
room booking & cancellation services etc. Other these services such as accommodation, food &
drinks, restaurants, bars, car rental etc. are being provide to customers & guests.
Depending upon locations or prices are charged by hotel. They have been using differentiation
strategy within their business which makes it easy for them to differentiate themselves form their
competitors in proper manner. Furthermore, this has been also stated that impact of COVID 19
has too affected overall organisational structure at wider scale. The hospitality industry has been
changing their market strategy due to this pandemic situation. As because, it is making it difficult
for leader of firm to carry out their activities properly. Furthermore, it is examined that leader of
company are using their leadership styles in correct way. Moreover, profitability & efficiency of
output has been lowered due to COVID 19 (Gupta, 2019). It has become necessary to focus &
determine these unexpected events so that objectives are attained within period of time. In
context of Hotel, they follow hierarchical structure in which superiors take major decisions
within management.
Due to rise of hospitality industry, hotel is being focusing on adapting of effective
strategies to survive in market for longer period to deal with their competitors appropriately.
These impacts are necessary to be tracked by respective corporation so that it is useful for them
to implement their marketing strategies properly. Due to increase of competitive level within
same sector, it is essential for leaders to use their skills at em,regency level (Hunter, 2018)
Therefore, from above introduction of organisation it has been stated that it is a large
enterprise which deals in hospitality & services. With wide area of business operations, they
have been to achieve their objectives. Moreover, through accessing to large market, their base is
strong.
B) Briefly introduce the key management and leadership theories/models/methods/styles
Management as well as leaders both are inter-related with each other. A leader is one
who has capability to change in decisions of others & get work done from others as well (Araslı
and Arıcı, 2019). Both are necessary for an enterprise as they are responsible for generating
profit to company at larger scale. Theories are necessary to be understood as they help in
applying of knowledge in proper manner to a field of study or area. It is duty of leader to have
appropriate knowledge about such theories & styles which is beneficial for them to get work
