New south Wales, the act followed is Work Health and safety Act 2011. The regulation is
Work health and safety Regulation 2011, the code given there is NSW code of practices
(Stavropoulos, 2014.). The regulator is SafeWork NSW. The code provides necessary
information and guidance to comply with certain safety and health laws.
A 1.2
There are two agencies of government which are looking to these regulations and
legislation. One is the NSW department of industry, resources and energy, Second one is
SafeWork NSW (Lyons, 2016). These rules and regulations are required to cooperate the risk
associated with the workplace for all the employees and all the associated parties. The primary
law in New South Wales is the Work Health and Safety Act, 2011. This is further supported by
Work Health and Safety Regulations 2011.

There are usually two kind of codes, one is mandatory codes which gives minimum
standard protection to their consumers (Regan, 2015). The second one is voluntary codes, which
are flexible and they can be changed according to the changing industry and needs. The WHS
practices present are;
Excavation work
hazardous manual task
Safely removal of asbestos
management of electrical risk
Safe design of structures
power coating and spray painting

Responsibilities of co-workers and yourself
To comply with all the environmental, safety and health regulations
Clearly observe the sign boards related to health and safety
use protective equipment and proper engineering control
To report all the unsafe conditions to supervisor (Windholz, 2015)
Must participate in health and safety drills
They should warn the other co-workers regarding the damaged equipments

The responsibilities of PCIBs are;
Must ensure that the effectiveness should be maintained of the programs run by
university's environmental health and safety.
They have to make sure that the directors and dean's are taking all the right steps
to their program implementation
they must implement the program in all the respective departments

Responsibilities of supervisors
Communicate with their employees regarding the work practices going on are safe or
not (Blewett and et.al., 2014).
They have to ensure that the operating procedures going on are safe and risk free
They must take the inspections of self-assessment regularly, and must remove the
deficiencies if there is any.
A 1.8
The wardens are responsible for the development regarding the safety laws and
regulations. They have to determine that all the safe program must apply to all the departments
and provide necessary information to all the specified community with the help of proper
communication system.
A 1.9
The visitor have to make sure that they do not touch any running machinery. They have
to maintain the safe distance from all the workers who are working, so that they will not get

distracted (Galvin, 2016). The people who are not associated with the work place must follow
the safety sign boards. They should not enter in the areas which are prohibited.
