INTRODUCTION
Women empowerment is one of the main topics of discussion when it comes to
development and economics the empowerment of women refers to allowing the women to
enjoy their rights and to control the assets and resources of women. In some parts of the
country there is discrimination among men and women. Men want to dominate woman and
that is the reason behind inequality of women as it is a Male dominant society. Women
should be empowered because both men and women are human beings and both should get
equal rights and no sex should have a right to be dominant in the society (Dwivedi, &
Dwivedi, 2011).Women should be respected in the society as they contribute to the society
and the economy as well. According to (DAC Network on Gender Equality, 2011) Women
should be part of decision making process and they should be allowed to access the resources.
Further it is going to discuss the importance of women empowerment (Rahman, 2013).
Gender inequality is one of the main social issues in the world because of which
women are facing issues in the male dominant society. Women empowerment needs to be
initiated in the country in order to equalize both the genders. Uplifting women should be top
priority of any nation. Inequality among men and women creates various issues and problems
in the success of the nation. Women have right to have equal rights like men. Women
empowerment can change various things in the society; it can change the economic
conditions of the family.
Women empowerment can change the male dominant country to an equal dominant
country. Empowerment of women can bring empowerment to the whole society. Women
empowerment is one of the best treatments for any big or small issues in the society. In the
recent years it can be seen that women have started taking part actively in the various fields

and activities but the situation of women still needs to be improved in some sections of the
country
DICUSSION
Around fifty per cent of the population of women is unemployed and the main reason
behind it is unequal opportunities at work which is one of the main issues that stops them
from showing their potential (Burnet, 2011). It is important for the companies to realise that
women are important part of the society and they should be treated equally at workplace as
they will help in contributing to the economy as well as the society (Cornwall, 2016).
It is important for the world to realise that women are equally intelligent and that
women in the world today are way ahead of men in every field and that is the reason it is
important to make their presence feel in the society (Kabeer, 2010). Women are a storehouse
of talent, earlier women were not allowed to receive educations the society was backwards
and the time was very different but now the times have changed and women can take the
same kind of responsibilities as men can do, women can showcase their talent and that is why
it is important for the society to provide equal level of opportunities to women as men (Ali, &
Hatta, 2012).
According to (Alvarez and Lopez, 2013) Women empowerment is also important
because it helps in promoting the overall development of the society. Gender should not be
the only unreasonable factor that should determine what candidates should perform; this is
one of the biggest disadvantages to the development of the society (Kabeer, 2012). Women
should not be part of a society that is dominated traditionally by the men. Society should not
think of women as someone who is meant to maintain harmony and peace at home(Ahmed,
Creanga, Gillespie, & Tsui, 2010). Society needs to understand that the roles have reversed
