INTRODUCTION
Project management is defined as a process which includes planing controlling and
executing of a project in terms of achieving preset objectives of a firm. Apart from that
managing business project is defined as a key element through which organisation can easily get
effective outcomes. Basically, a project is depend on the various sources but if it is fail it gave
wrong impact on the business operations. It gave a responsibility to project managers to
operating projects as per the schedule in order to getting effective outcomes in future. The
company is taken for this assignment is Vodafone group plc that engages in telecommunication
sector with headquarters in London and it was established in 1991. This report will discuss about
the aims and objective of project along with cost, quality an scope of it. Work breakdown
structure and Gantt chart will also prepared in this report. An investigation will also conducted in
this report for identifying qualitative and quantitative methodologies of research.
TASK 1
P1 Aims and Objectives
Overview of the company:
The company which is being taken into consideration in order to carry out the
research is Vodafone which is a British multinational telecommunications company. It
headquarter is situated in London and was founded in 1991. In addition to this it specifically
operates in regions like Europe, Oceania, Africa and Asia. It mainly deals in products like Fixed
line telephone, mobile phone, Broadband, digital television and internet television (Marcos,
2014). Moreover, it operates its network in 25 countries and has a partner network in 47 further
countries.
Background of the research:
Globalization plays an important role in the overall development of the nations as
it is the process of interaction and integration among various peoples, companies and nations. It
has been taken place due to the advancement in transportation, communication technology. Due
to increase in the level of globalization there has been development and growth in trade, ideas
and culture. Economically, it involves exchange of goods, services, resources of capital,
technology and data. In addition to this it has also lead in the expansion of global market, has
liberalized the economic activity of exchange of products and services. Furthermore it has also

lead to removal of trade barriers(Tariff and non tariff barrier) and has made global market more
feasible.
Aims:
The aim of this assignment is to analyse the implication of globalization on the
workplace of Vodafone and how it will help in shaping future workforce.
Objectives:

P2 Project management plan that covers aspects of cost, scope, time, quality, communication,
risk and resources
Project management is the practice of initiating, executing, planning , controlling and
winding up of work of a particular team so as to achieve target goals and to meet success criteria
on specified time schedule. So its the prime responsibility of the project manager of Vodafone
company to plan, execute, and close projects (Ortiz‐Yoon, 2012). In addition to this Vodafone
company should follow essential steps while carrying out the project management plan
successfully and they are explained below:
Cost: It specifically includes controlling expenses, planning of budget, cost budgeting
etc. So its the prime responsibility of the project manger of Vodafone company to make
proper arrangements of capital so as to carry out project smoothly in an effective and
efficient manner.
Scope: Vodafone is a multinational business which carry out its business all over the
world. It operates its business in almost 25 countries and because of which its project
scope is too high.
Quality: Its the prime responsibility of the project manger of Vodafone company to
ensure that all the activities which are to be carried out while carrying out its plan must
be of better quality and should be done in an effective and efficient manner.
Time: While carrying out the project management plan, project manger of Vodafone
company should ensure that each activity of the project is being carried out on time so
that there does not take place any delay to achieve target aims and objectives.

Communication: Other essential element which the project manager of Vodafone
company should ensure that there must be proper communication and coordination
among the members those are carrying out the project. Thus, it will helps in achieving
target on specified time period.
Resources: Most important of all is that project manger of Vodafone company should
ensure proper and optimum utilization of resources so as to earn maximum profit by
incurring minimum cost.

Work breakdown structure- It is defined as dividing a work into small parts. It is an
important structure which helps organisation in organising the work in an effective manner.
Through this structure a firm can easily complete its difficult task in addition to this it is the work
in which employees gave their maximum efforts in their assigned task. With relating to project
management, it provide assistance to management in making divisions of activities in various
small parts in order to getting effective results in future. It also helps employees so that, they
cannot raise any issues regarding to work. It is a method through which an organisation is easily
complete their complex projects or tasks (Richter, 2012). Furthermore, its main objective is to
manage big projects into controllable divisions by making their small parts. It also provide aid to
management in effective utilisation of resources.

Gantt chart – It is a chart through which organisation can get tracking of all activities
regarding to a specific project. In other words, It is the type of graphic example that provide
assistance to organisation in planing and controlling things in term of tracking the functions of a
project. Horizontal lines are showing the activities which are completed in the project and
defines how much time is taken in completion of project. In this, the activities related to the
project are separated on the basis of time. It give time period to employees in which they have to
completed the task. It is providing the effective outcomes in future period.

Research methods are defined as an specific proceedings which is used for identify,
process and analyse informations about a subject. It includes the theoretical analysis of
methodologies which is related with the branch of knowledge. Furthermore, it is a systematic
analysis of methods that are related with a field of study. There are two methodologies which can
used by researcher in order to conducting an probe they are as following:
Qualitative – it is a method of research that collects non numeric informations. This type
of research is connected with the concept, sign and description of a thing. It is a method of
collecting data in which the data is measured as the fact and theoretic view. In addition to this, it
is an investigation of collection interpretation and analysation of data by observation of
individual and its nature is subjective.
Quantitative – In this methodology, data is collected through various sources but it is
numeric and base on quantity. In other words it is a measurement of statistical or numeric data
and it is gathered through various sources such as surveys and questionnaires.

P7 Value of undertaking the research to meet stated objectives
Task is take into concentrate on effect of globalisation on the business model of
Vodafone in Human resource department. In this method, there are five methods in this project.
In first part, It is connected with planning the ideas and trying to match the ideas as per topic.
After identifying content, my research will started in the second phase, I would collect the
informations about organisation and investigate all the details which is collected by me. During
the investigating and taking interrogations I feels that I was contributive things that are related
with specific topic. The third phase is connected with outlining of project in which I will develop
a puzzle or maps. The outlining of the project is essential because the fourth phase is based on
the outlining because of outlining I will easily complete my research. In the fifth part I will
submit the report in order to getting positive results (Eskerod, 2013).
CONCLUSION
It has been analysed from the above report that project managing is essential in order to
getting positive results. Under this, the business of Vodafone is affected due to globalisation
organisation wants to expand its operations in other countries. In this report Gantt chart and
WBS were created and the activities are divided according to target time. The different methods
are used for conducting research such as qualitative and quantitative which helps them in taking
competitive advantage in marketplace.
