1) A summary of your work experience
I am in this hotel from the past five years. My first job in hotel sector was related to cleaning
in which I was responsible for taking care providing hygienic environment for guest. After
that in the same hotel I was doing waitressing where I was accountable for providing food
and beverage to guests(Parkhouse, Lu and Massaro, 2019). After working in this hotel for
five years I changed two places where I was doing same waitressing job.
2) A consideration on how that experience has advanced your skills and knowledge
From this experience I have gained some abilities and knowledge that will help me in my
future career development. While working as a cleaning staff in the hotel I was able to
enhance my knowledge about maintaining hygienic environment in a place. I have gained
experience that guest feel welcome in an environment where they could feel secure and safe.
I have also gained ability to work as a team with my co-workers during this period of time. I
was able to enhance my interaction with other teammates and increase my team working
skills. This has help me in understanding their opinions more effectively as we all work
together while cleaning hotel. During working as a waiter experience I was able to enhance
my communication skills through communicating with several people having different
cultures (Leary and et. Al 2020). I was also able to enhance my knowledge regarding
diversity which is very important in a working environment. Through enhancing my
communication skills I’m able to represent my persuasion or opinions in front of others more
effectively without any hesitation. I was also able to improve my problem solving skills
during working as a waiter in the hotel. This has Help me in understanding different opinions
of people and thinking of several methods that could help in resolving issues among people.
During this experience of working as a cleaning staff and waiter I was able to improve my
time management skill which has helped me in managing all my activities according to the
schedule. Because of my good time management skills I was able to complete my task on the
provided time period without any delay which is assist me in making positive image of
myself in front of my supervisor.
