INTRODUCTION Working in Partnership is all about the combination of two or more people who worktogether to gain maximum advantage in an organisation. In health care and social serviceorganisations , partnership is all about group of two or more people who work together toprovide maximum benefits to their patients and with the help of available resources, they canprovide welfare to the care unit. In this assignment, we will present the philosophy of working inpartnership and evaluate the partnership relationship in health and social care services(Chapman, 2014). 1.1 Philosophy of working in partnership in health and social care. Four philosophies of working in partnership are: Authorisation EsteemSelf-determinationKnowledgeable decisions Authorisation in health and social care units is giving authority to staff or members ofcare units to make independent choices. This enables them to take independent decision andensures freedom. Authorisation in health and social care unit means that everyone has theautonomy to take decisions like when to eat, where to eat, when to sleep etc. to make sure theindividuality of each and every person of the unit. In general the meaning of the term esteem isgiving and receiving respect. In social and health care units, it is important to generate respect forthe patients to make them feel like home; then only they can recover fast and healthily. On theother hand, patients should also respect the people who are taking care of them;,patients musttalk to them nicely and not consider them as their servants. This is because it is well-known thatrespect is the two way business, it's a process of give and take (Crawford,2015). The meaning ofself determination is handling own life. In social and health care centres, it is important tomaintain individuality. The patients and all other members of the care unit must have control on their own livesand their way of living, they should also have authority to make some changes according to theirlevel of comfort or they can also guide the process of management in order to make somechanges which are favourable to everyone.
