INTRODUCTION
Partnership in health and social care leads together two and more companies which
empowers them and maximizes advantage of available resources and transform them into large
benefits and wellbeing of the society. A good partnership among the companies helps together to
upgrade their position in the society as well as improves quality of care as compared individual
organization. Working in partnership with professionals, volunteers and carers brings outcome-
based care in the society and improves healthy people ratio. The partnership includes paid,
unpaid workers and friends & families whereas each person has own role but no role is more
crucial than any others. Effective implementation of the partnership empowers the organization
with additional knowledge, confidence and skills which are crucial for the planning of better
health care and social care services. The report provides understanding about numerous aspects
of partnership in the health and social care with other related factors.
Task 1
The philosophy of working in partnership
There are some philosophies of working in partnership in health care and social care
which helps to understand significance of partnership for the individual as well as society. These
are explained below as follows:
Empowerment
Initially, organizations involve in partnership working that each one must has good
coordination to each other in respect activities and cooperation which empowers organizations to
gain the target goals and objective over the time period (Anderson, McKee and Talbot, 2017). In
addition, partnership working must ensures that everyone in the health care centres has freedom
to make their own decision and choice based on that which work is more appropriated for them.
There is an example to understand empowerment philosophy such as people who is health care,
has freedom to choose own timing for eating foods. This situation assures that patients have to
eat their meals either they are not feeling hungry or never comes.
Respect
Working in Partnership in Health and Social Care_3
It is second philosophy of partnership which states that partnership needs mutual respect
between two or more parties because it leads high understanding and maintains wellbeing of
individuals (Grundy, Elliott and Stevens, 2019). Collaboration between health care and social
care helps individual to work smoothly whereas respect supports to develop strong inter-
organizational relationships among the partner.
Independence
Independence philosophy in the partnership working is important because it ensures
everyone that they have right to choose whatever they feel best suitable for them. Independence
is crucial at the health care centre because it is important for the organization and individual
wellbeing. For example, when individuals are allowed to take decision or helps the management
to develop plan and come with effective strategy which fulfil every individuals objective in the
health care centre (Astbury, Shepherd and Cheyne, 2017).
Interdependence
When organizations work as partners in the health and social care services, in that
situation they must depend on each other for financial and social support (Glasby, 2017).
Interdependences between partnership organizations supports in the coordination of activities,
lead optimum utilization of resources and shares information’s which are required for the
decision-making purpose. For example, NHS England and other health and care organization
both works in partnership that empowers each other in respect of resources and financial
perspective.
Making informed choices:
It is last philosophy of working in partnership whereas organizations works as partner in
health and social care sectors must be enable to take effective and informed decision so that each
one in partnership gets benefit as well as service users (Chesters and et.al., 2016). There is an
example of Age UK Croydon, Croydon Council, GP practices and other local NHS are
collaborated to each other for improving their care services and influences the wellbeing of older
people in Croydon. While local NHS provides 24/7 health information services to the patient that
improves healthcare practices of employees in the organization.
