Task 1
Australians have a very relaxed lifestyle. Their choice of clothing during the business is
conservative, especially in Melbourne and Sydney; Men generally wear dark-coloured
clothes like business suits while women wear a smart dress or a business suit. The Australian
way of communication is direct. The language of Australians is colourful, with an element of
humour in their speech (Mewton et al. 2014). They do not need a long-standing relationship
before entering a business deal. Australian are sport rooted people and consider trust as a
chief factor while conducting business.
The USA and Australia share some similarities. Both the nations are recently settled by
European culture and are English speaking, and both the culture tend to be materialistic and
are risk-takers in business. However, there are significant differences between the two
cultures. In the US, putting one’s point across is substantial while in Australia, this kind of
behaviour is considered as attention-seeking. While creating a business alliance with
Australians, it is necessary to build trust, whereas Americans are only concerned about
business and profit rather than individual character (Kushner and Ryan 2014). Whereas
Australians are relaxed Americans are much more fast-paced, which is evident. This cultural
difference will undoubtedly impact the smooth running of business between these countries.
Firstly Australians may not like the attitude of the American way of putting their point loud
and clear, and Australians may mistake this as American domination and suspended the
business term. Secondly, Americans may confuse the relaxed nature of the Australian as
being unprofessional and casual, creating differences.
Task 2
I am currently working as a digital marketing executive in an advertising firm. So
recently, interpersonal conflict occurred between my manager and me, where I felt pushed by
