INTRODUCTION Global pandemic or COVID-19 is one of the most common term in the world, every business was impacted due to pandemic and have to change their business structure to meet the demand. Workplace transformation occur due to global pandemic, when employees were lock down in their homes, business made certain changes in the employee management process (Aroles and et.al., 2021). Workplace transformation means change in pattern of managing people and their work, business faced certain challenges. COVID-19 have introduced certain new ways to manage people and their performance, business compulsory have to bring major changes which impact their positioning in highly competitive market. Background of the study: This study is based on Tesco, this company is one of the largest supermarket chain that have wide range of product to fulfil rising demand of the customer. Tesco have global footprint and great brand image because of their quality product provided to customer in the market (Pataki-Bittó and Kapusy, 2021). This company have brand image and reputation that allow them to become competitive in the market, strong management of the company helped them to survive global pandemic and helped them to manage workplace transformation. Aims: The aim of this project is “To investigate impact of global pandemic on boosting workplace transformation” a case study of Tesco. Objectives: To investigate impact of global pandemic on promoting workplace transformation. To assess range of workplace transformation occur due to global pandemic. To examine impact of workplace transformation on business organization. To craft the best strategies for betterment of workplace during transformation. Research question: What are impact of global pandemic on boosting workplace transformation? What are range of workplace transformation occur due to global pandemic? What are impact of workplace transformation on business organization? How the best strategies for betterment of workplace during transformation?
Rationale: Reason behind conducting this study is to understand what are impact of global pandemic thatbringchangeinworkplacetransformationprocess.Anotherreasonistogetclear understanding how business response to demand in workplace transformation and what are major impact on the employee in the process. Another reason may include personal reason to gain max. knowledge out of this research in the process. LITERATURE REVIEW Theme 1: investigating impact of global pandemic on promoting workplace transformation: According tode Lucas Ancillo and et.al., (2021), global pandemic is one of the major reason why businesses have to adopt workplace transformation. It is very clear due to spread of COVID-19, one of the deadliest virus in the history of mankind, every business unit and industrial work was completely stopped. When government introduced lock down to control the spread, businesses runner know they have to bring major changes in workplace to meet the demand. Completely new concept of 'work from home' was introduced that allow employee to work directly from home. This new concept was beneficial for employee as they were safe from spread of virus but business management was impacted due to work from home. Every company compulsory have to bring changes in management process as no employee was presented in the workplace, transformation took place as changes were made automatically. For example; business brought workplace transformation and allowed employee to work anywhere from home. Theme 2: assessing range of workplace transformation occur due to global pandemic: According toMancl and Fraser (2020), workplace transformation is one of the wide term which include change in management structure, it is very clear changing whole structure is challenging task which company can not perform during pandemic. Global pandemic or COVID-19 have push businesses to make ranges, these changes or transformation can be seen in different area for example; work pattern; work pattern was completely changed due to global pandemic because work from home was introduced where employees were free to work from their home and complete the task according to their requirement. Businesses have introduced flexible working hour that allow employee to work effectively and can leave system before office time as they are working from home. RESEARCH METHODOLOGY Research type: Research type means form in which research can be completed where researcher collect data by adopting two different forms, including qualitative and quantitative research type. Qualitative means data will be collected in the form of feelings and thematic area where researcher considers these elements (Rinjit, 2020). Whereas quantitative research type means researcher will focus on statistical and numerical form to complete the study. For the completion of this study qualitative research type will suit best to gain in-depth experience of employee. Research approach: Research approach means steps of broad assumptions while collecting data, research adopt different approach while completing their study, there are two research approach including inductive and deductive research approach. Inductive research approach mean researcher will generate brand-new theory whereas in deductive, researcher will consider existing theory that allow them to complete study. For the completion of this study, researcher have considered inductive because it is related to qualitative research approach. Research philosophy: Research philosophy means set of belief about in which research collect data and interpret them to get max. knowledge to complete their study, there are two type of research philosophies, interpretivism and positivism. Interpretivism philosophy believe that individual shape society behaviour whereas positivism believe that society shape behaviour of individual. For the
completion of the study, researcher will consider, interpretivism as to gain max. knowledge and understanding individual perception. Data collection: Data collection is one of the most important element in research methodology as this allow researcher to collect data and interpret it, there are two methods of data collection, primary and secondary (Kothari, 2019). Primary data collection means researcher will consider new data directly from individual and their viewpoint whereas secondary data means researcher will consider already published data which was used by other researcher as well. For the completion of this study, researcher will consider both primary and secondary data collection method to gain max. knowledge about the chosen topic. Sampling: Sampling is selected when researcher considers primary data as they have to perform sampling to collected data, there are different type of sampling including survey and interview of employee. Survey means surveying viewpoint of individual and collecting data whereas interview means interviewing candidate of employee to gain max. knowledge about chosen topic. For the completion of this study, researcher will perform interview of five employees. Ethical consideration: Ethics or moral consideration is one of the most important thing in research methodology where researcher consider moral value while collecting and interpreting data. Ethical consideration allow researcher to avoid hurting any feelings of candidate while interviewing them and considering their viewpoint. Moral value of researcher allow them to avoid using those word in interview and help them to use secondary data with proper and valid form. For the completion of this study, researcher have consider ethical value where; No candidate and their feelings were hurt. Books and journal was used effectively.
