INTRODUCTION
Management of a successful business is all about management of a particular project to
achieve their organization goals and objectives. The major aim of this report is to describes the
corporate social responsibility and its importance for sustainability competitive advantage to
meet the objectives of the organization. Apart from this it included all the CSR activities whose
main motives is to overall economic development by improving the quality living standard with
upliftment of a all the sections of the society (Saunders, 2012). Basically it covers the work break
down structure and Gantt chart to distribute the task and activities of the project in different-
different departments. In fact it also describes the effective project management plan and try to
acquire useful information with the help of effective research methods to collect accurate data
which may be act as a very indispensable tool in the decision making process. At the end it
shows the roles of the corporate social responsibility.
TASK 1
P1 Devise clear aims and objectives for the proposed research project
It is essential for a business organization is to conduct an appropriate and effective research
project which can help to attain long term goals and objectives. This is the responsibilities of the
project manager is to established aims and objectives which can help to make their project
successful in the near future(Lewis, 2012). There are various issues which can create a serious
problem in the business and its long term growth. In the context of current CSR project which is
related with the Tesco PLC which is one of the leading business organization and operate their
business in the United Kingdom. The company wants to make an eco-friendly park in the city of
London for as the CSR activity. For this there are followings aims and objectives in the context
of Tesco:

To establish a green park which can protect the environment and create awareness
regarding green park
Planting maximum trees in the proposed green park as the part of CSR project
To create pollution free environment and promote eco friendly system in the park as well
as within the organization(Polonsky, 2014).
To make various programs which can help to make their supply chain in a sustainable
way which can help to reducing carbon emission.
They make sure that to use green packaging in their business practices and follow
government guidelines in related to the environment.

Cost This is an important element that can help the organization to adopt all the planning,
organizing techniques that can help them help them to decide budget on the various types
of costs being used by the organization for successful development of the products and
services being offered by the company(Waller, 2014). There are 3 types of costs
Planning cost: Pre planning cost helps the company to plan out all the activities in
advance regarding the expenses that can be made in advance and it can make the plan of
actions at all the levels be it managerial level, operational level or daily functioning level.
Material cost: Material Cost refers to the cost which is being analyses so that all the
material facts and information are analyses for the purpose of providing all the materials
related to products and service development.
Human resource cost: It helps in planning out all the human resources which are being
cost effective and provide cheap availability of products at highest quality.
Operating cost: It is the cost which is related to operational management of the enterprise
in accordance with relevant tools and techniques for planning, excising the operations at
which every material can be provided to the consumers(Eckerson, 2010).
Scope: The basic thinking in the mind of consumers which can be implemented by the
organizations for the developmental facilities of the public support. These supporting
elements are so essential that if they are analysed in proper coordination then each and
every organizational efficiency can be generated.
Quality: It is checking is done on the products and services regarding the products and
services which can help them to analyse the mistakes and make changes regarding the

society in which they are operating their products and services(Sparrow, 2012). Due to
the regular quality check working efficiency increases and product achieves new and
relative heights.
Communication: Communication is a two-way process which requires sender and
receiver on the part of providing complete and correct information being implemented at
the level of generating a sense of coordination between each other. So for any CSR
communication is essential tool that can help the managers and customers to know and
develop a sense of responsibility by which products are being provided to them at their
desired level.
Risk: Risk is an integral part of business as risks help the organizations to grow and
develop on the levels of providing the knowledge of handling the projects which caters to
individual and organisational development(Trevino, 2010).
Cost risk is the risk which is related to the cost of the product being provided by the
company in starting a new business as if company fails then all the cost cannot be
recovered.
Government risk refers to the risks of changing policies of the government regarding
banning of products and services, rules of trading, and so on.
Market risk is the risk which is related to the competition prevailing in the market for
products and services being available to all the customers at different prices by different
companies(Nelson, 2010)
Commercial risk is the risk which is related to commercial checking of products and
services in the market from being declared as offense for the consumers.
Legal risk is the type of risk which includes all the legal laws that are abiding the product and
service from being utilized in terms of quality check, availability and the other factors that can
degrade environment.

It is not an easy task to manage a project or complete the project in a effective manner
without taking help from various methods. In fact project management plan requires a

specialised persons and skilled people to perform all the functions of the particular project in a
effective and efficient manner(Keller, 2010). Mainly project management plan covers all the
essential elements which plays a very vital role in the management of a particular project to
achieve the target of their organization with the help of useful methods. Apart from this it helps
in calculating the actual duration and time period in completion of a project with the help of
crashing technique and methods. Some of the important methods of solving the issues of project
management are- project networking, project evaluation technique method, critical path analysis,
floats, social benefit analysis, budgeting method which helps in estimating the appropriate cost
for particular project.
Work breakdown structure is the term which shows the distribution of a works in
different-different departments to perform all the works in a efficient and effective
manner. The main motive of the work breakdown structure is to complete all the task
and activities as soon as possible or in a minimum period of time. In fact most of the
large and small enterprise adopted this technique of work breakdown to achieve their
objectives as soon as possible by maximizing their profit with the help of accurate
information and data(Parameswaran, 2011). Apart from this it act as a very useful tool
in dividing all the tasks in between different departments according to their skills and
talent.
Whereas Gantt chart is also one of important and indispensable technique in the project
management plan as it helps in preparing or showing all the activities in a particular
chart. In fact this Gantt chart is a kind of bar chart which is mainly used by the
enterprises for better understanding about their task and activities in a proper manner.
In other words this chart express the information with the help of horizontal and
vertical lines for better understanding about data to take appropriate decisions or to
perform in a well manner(Jacob, 2011).
Last but not the least work breakdown structure and Gantt chart both of them are very
useful and indispensable part in the project management plan because of the effective roles and
responsibility towards the organization(Kendrick, 2015).

Findings: From the above data it can be concluded that higher employees who disagree
with the fact that Tesco should continue to implement CSR project plan. There were equal
employees who are highly agree and disagree with the fact and there were minimal employees
who were agreed by the fact that Tesco should implement CSR plans.

Conclusion: From the above data it can be concluded that average number of people were
in favour that CSR should be launched with Protection of child labour because there is immense
need to protect child labour so that their time is utilized in studying rather than wasting their
times to earn money for their families. Secondly largely people were in favour that The issues
which are related to environment should be taken into consideration as there is great need to
protect the environment and the natural resources as they are getting depleted day by day so CSR
programs should be launched with Cited environment issues so that environment will be taken
care. People have given equal weight to programs that are related to health care and welfare of
the employees in the organization.

P 7 Reflection on own learning and performance
Coming on my own learning from all the above CSR activities mentioned in the
organization and with the help of all the methods or techniques used by the enterprises to
perform all the activities effectively and efficiently. With the help of research methods I come to
know about the thoughts and opinions of a various customers or overall society by getting
immediate feedback by implementing questionnaire method. In fact work breakdown structure
provide effective technique of dividing or breaking the work in between various departments
according to their skills and knowledge. The main motive behind the work breakdown structure
is to complete all the task and activities in a minimum period of time to achieve the organization
objectives as soon as possible. In other words it also shows various useful methods and
techniques which act as a very useful tool for enhancing my own learning and skills which will
be very helpful in solving future business problems.
