Event Description
1. What was you elevator pitch?
My elevator pitch in the event that was organized on 12th April 2019 in the Clarendon
Auditorium, Melbourne was: “Hello, I am Kumar and I am from India. I have completed my
Masters in Computer Science from Lovely Professional University and is currently working in
CSL as a network operator”.
2. Write down the contact details of one of the people you met.
Amongst all the ICT professionals the person who made an impact on me was Sheryl L
Domingue. She is currently working with Oracle as a Senior Program Manager. She lives in
Santa Clara and her email id is [e-mail]. We had an elaborate discussion on the
importance of a proper ICT certification. In addition to that, she also gave me several advices
that I am sure will help me in the future.
3. What was their advice on how to get started in the industry?
Sheryl L Domingue advised me to do my research in the specified field properly. In
addition to that, she also advised me to attend the industry specific events which will help me
gain more knowledge in the field.
4. What new ideas did you gain that added to your understanding of ACS and
ICT?
Networking plays an immensely important role in terms of professional and personal
growth. Members of the ACS are encouraged thoroughly for the purpose of professional
development. Therefore attending such events is very helpful.

5. How was the event topic relevant to your future work?
The event covered the topic: “value of ICT certification”. As my core area of knowledge
is Information and technology, there are certain things that I have learnt that can be used in my
future projects.

Next time I will create a better elevator speech.
PY Course
1. What have you learned in the PY Course this week?
This week’s PY course helped me a lot in learning the potential ways of dealing with
ethical dilemmas that involve privacy and confidentiality of information. The information may
belong to the clients or the organization itself. From what I have learnt, answering the questions
raised by these dilemmas depends on an individual’s mind-set. Unlike medical and law
professions, the IT industry does not have a standard set on ethics in order to deal with these
ethical issues. Therefore it depends completely on an individual.
2. How you used what you learned in the PY course in your internship this
week?
Since my role as an intern is an IT admin, one of my prime concerns is to keep an eye on
the stock control. While accessing the stock pricings information I found that there are certain
areas where the money is being misused. As my seniors were the one responsible for this
occurrence, I was in a dilemma whether to mention the names to the higher authority. Then I

focused on my learnings that I gained from the PY course. I decided not to mention the names
but at the same time I highlighted the areas where the money was being misused in order for the
company to incorporate strict measures. This way I solved the stock issue without actually
confronting my seniors.
3. How your PY course learning will help you in your future career?
There are various beneficial factors that will surely help me in building a firm
professional career. Especially dealing with the ethical dilemmas which is an inevitable part of
the job for an IT personnel. My decision making skills will be enhanced with the help of this PY
course and I will be able to take quality decisions that will have a positive impact on me as well
as the organization I will work in the future.
