INTRODUCTION
Every business requires proper management and leadership which can be formed by
the coordination of employer and employees at work place. To run any organisation, it is
important to appoint new operator. ''Good management and leadership are very important for
an organisation to be successful. ''. To teach subordinate it is necessary to hire leader so that
they can do their work efficiently. It can be possible by team soul for proper leadership,
because it is duty of trainer to provide training for development of their knowledge. The
condition of UPS (united parcel service) company of UK is not good. This company facing
many problems and losses from many years because this organisation have no proper
management administrative and leadership. So, this report describes about work of HR in
selection procedure, role of leader and mangers in company. institution require new employees
in their business for proper management of organisation. For the development and achieve the
target of this company, selection and recruitment process is necessary so that decent
management can be possible.
TASK 1
1.1 Documentation are prepared by HR for the process of recruitment and selection
UPS company want to recruit new members in company so that being HR it’s my duty
to prepare documents for this process (Kizil, 2016). In this business requirement of 2 leaders,
7 employees, 2 administrations because company facing problem of management.
Documentation which have to prepare are:
Documents required: This process is started when UPS authority give approves for the
recruitment.
1. Draft is maintain including description about position.
2. Application form
3. recruitment material
4. Information about applicants
5. experience certificate of last designation
6. qualification certificates

11 Advertisement: It is most important point for the recruitment of employees because
individual let inform about vacancy through advertisement. Approval of advertisement
is given by HR and media is choose for the transfer of information is also done by
HR department. Advertisement can be possible through online media, open
advertisement, print media etc.
1.2 Selection and recruitment process is affected by legal, regulatory and ethical consideration.
This process require some formality of legal rules because any act which go beyond the
rules of authority is not good for the UPS company. If this company respect the rule and
regulations of legislature or government than it helps company to minimize the risk of job
posting, checking job offers, questioning interviews etc.(Lund and Lund, 2016). It is bounded
on all organisation that follow legal rules. many laws which are related to selection and
recruitment process are: legal effect includes some act which are:
Wages Act 1998: Parliament of UK creates minimum wages for their consumer recently their
wages 7.50 euro per hour for those worker whose age is more than 25 years. To control the
torture on consumers this act is developed. Implementation of minimum wages is helped by
conservative party and democrats liberal.
Human right act: This act is establish in 1998 to set the fundamental right and provide
equality to consumers. If rights of human are breached than parliament take action against
them.
Equality right: This right is provided to those consumer whose are treating badly in industry.
Equal wages is provided for similar work because partiality among them cause loss to business
and discourage employees toward work. Some practise is done at workplace which is not good
for employees and effect work environment.
1. Impact of race relation and sex discriminatory act: If any employees who is male or
female are recruited on the basis of their skill not doing any discriminatory practice
with them. Any person who are appointed in UPS company not on the basis of their
cast. Castism is no allowable in Indian legislation rules. Person who is qualified for the

2. Impact of law in interview stage and employment: law are made for those persons
who are insulted in interviews on basis of their nationality and religions. It is duty as
well responsibility of UPS don't ask them such question which hurt them and don't do
ad sexist comment (Cook, 2016) . It is duty of department treat them all employees
equally and behave polity with them. It is also necessary to check the criminal record of
candidate or he have legal right to work in UK or not. Give the statement of salary,
hours of work, holiday to new employees.
1.3 Evidence for the taking part in selection process of employees
The HR play important role in selection of employees because HR take interview of
candidates and among many select that person who is eligible for the particular post. Process
of selection in UPS company for the mangers, leader and employees are done by HR:
1. Panels are selected for the requirement of employees: panels are selected on the order
of human resources director of company. Three type of post is required in UPS
company so HR Selects three selection panel and three recruitment. Each Panel have
director is appointed for the selection of new workers in particular department and take
interview of new candidate. Leader is hired for particular team so that management of
that team can be done by that leader.
2. Short listing: Different Short listing methods are used for the selection of employees
among various applications and short listed deserving candidates. Some methods are
IQ test, written examination, MCQ examination etc. after preparing the list of short
listed candidates , arrange interview program for them. In IQ test some questions are
asked:
1. which strategy is used by virgin group
2. which innovation you required in our product.
3. what demand of consumer from this company

3. Interviews: After the short listing methods, interview of that persons are taken by HR
who are short listed. In interviews some questions are asked which are related to their
background, qualifications, about themselves, previous job etc.
4. Appointment: After the interview who completed the requirement of business is
appointed according to their skill and qualification on particular job. HR management
give them final statement and appointment of letter according to their profile.
1.4 My contribution to selection process in UPS company.
Being the HR of UPS company I played role in the selection and recruitment process
of organisation.
1. First I prepared document which are necessary for particular job.
2. Than after if give advertisement through different media to inform public about vacancy.
3. I took part in selection of panels and take interviews of short listed candidates(Ulrich and
et.al., 2016). Whole role from planning and for the selection to appointment is done by me.
Many other duty which I perform from starting to end such h are team management,
judge organisation growth after requirement, select best candidate, prepare strategy to achieve
the goal etc. I want my company to lead on the success and achieve goal. Our UPS facing
many difficulties in proper management as a HR I take all responsibility to run business
efficiently.
TASK 2
2.1 Assess skill and attribute required for leadership.
Any organisation required best leadership activity because without any leadership it is
difficult to handle and motivates employees. UPS company appoints many mangers and
employees and hire one leader for them also to run the work efficiently. Role of leader vis
better than managers because manager manage business but leader manage all
employees(Carroll, 2017). This part of assignment about the quality, skill , attribute of leader.
Leadership have some positive and negative impact because way of leading of every leader is
different and which directly indirectly give impact on the performance of employees.

UPS decide new way of organisation to distribute responsibility so that work of
company become flexible. The new way is to hire leader for particular department so that work
can be managed easily.
1. It is duty of leader to understand the system of discipline and allocate work to
employees according to their talent.
2. Good leader is that leader who don't tell them what to do but tell them do according to
your desire and skill so that your capacity and technique of work can be identify by
him(Cole, 2017.).
3. Leader have different attributes which helps organisation in proper planning and
achievement of goal.
4. Innovative, develop new ideas and principles, inspire their team, solve the problem of
team being resourceful, focus on the team building and motivate them toward goal.
5. Always look for the opportunity.
6. Skills which are necessary to being good leaders are : honesty, commitment,
confidence, ability to inspire, creativity,communication etc.
2.2 Difference between management and leadership
For the operation of UPS organisation it is necessary to make balance between
leadership and management.
1. Work of leadership is to mange team, allot them work, motivate employees, take decision
regarding investment and plan for the goal(Jaffe, 2017). And work of mangers is planing,
coordinating, Controlling, decision making in organisation according to requirement.
2. Ups required proper management and leadership to build the image of organisation and
earn profit but Quality of a mangers required skill of leadership for the management
and to inspire the subordinate

have authority to order and impose his will on employees. No one can challenge the
decision of them and should have to follow by worker or juniors.
2. Laissez- fair: According to this leadership manger have direct power to supervise their
subordinate and get feedback from them. Employees which have good skill and
knowledge require litter guidelines but not all employees have great quality of
understanding . This kind of leadership is for those employees whose work
performance is not good.
3. Participative: According to this leadership leaders of this organisation listen the
problems and suggestions of employees and take decision accordingly(Peters, 2016).
Leaders choose idea that support the majority and which is beneficial for them as well
to company. The respond given to employees and solving the problem raise moral of
employees and they motivate toward work more.

2.4 Staff can be motivated by some techniques to achieve the goals.
For the success of any organisation it is important that employees of company are
efficient and capability to achieve the goal and it can be possible when proper motivation is
given to them. Some motivation theory which influence employees toward work:
1. To do communication with employees: To increase the motivation of employees it is
necessary they feel comfortable in organisation. If staff feels that mangers and leaders
are listening and understanding their problems and try to solve their problems so that
their motivation towards work will increased (Peters, 2016). UPS company should have
try to recognise the problems of their employees and provide them proper facility by
creating good work environment in organisation.
2. Provide them good salary and reward and incentives: To motivate employees of their
company give them good salary. If company feel that any employees is giving 100% to
company and giving extra hours or overtime in company than try to raise his salary so
he like to do more work in company. Pay them additional bonus, give leave facility,
recreational facility are given to them. This all increase the efficiency of company and
profit also by achieve the target
3. Involve employees in decision making: If leader and manger of company involve their
workers in decision making and take action on their suggestions. motivate them to

can be risky for organisation but allow them to take small decision.
4. Provide them training and development: To develop the skill and ability of give them
proper training so they can perform more accurately in company and performance may
increased. Every employees in organisation have own goal toward their company and
themselves it can be full fill this facility.

3.1 Benefits of team working in achieving the target.
If UPS company builds such type of team which working in organisation efficiently
then it give benefit to overall business. So various advantages to work in team and easy to
accomplish the cognitive content.
1. High skilfulness: A individual person can not do more work at a time but that work is
divided in team than load of work will decrease and more work can be possible. It
increase the efficiency of business by doing work fast.
2. Innovative ideas: Every employees of team have different skill and knowledge. Views
of all make strong concept or innovative idea for particular task, which is extraordinary
advantageous for company.
3. Increase the speed and effectiveness of company: If any task is done by team it
consummated fast and take less time (Ma, Matsuzawa and Scardamalia, 2016). If work
of organisation consume less time for every task than easy to complete more project in
a day. It increase the efficiency of business and compass the goal elementary.
4. Easy to execute goal and get correlative support: By working conjointly in team,
members of unit start supports each other. Ready to help of employees in team to
solve the trouble in arduous situations. Obligation of specific undertaking is seized by
all associate of radical. So that it easy for them to sheer the particular task and reached

3.2 Importance of teamwork to deal with difficult situation
Various difficulty are always rise in organisation and all can be solved by employees ,

of team which help company to solve the problem on itself basis and hire those leader which
reduce or decrease the conflict among groups.
1. Team efficiency : Group of person is very dedicated toward goal and much committed
to finish the work in any conditions. A leader create the task for team and motivate
them to accomplish the task at right time. Shaper always shape the work by making
questioning, contention, Proposition to achieve the goal. By working in team create
efficiency of organisation.
2. Delegation of responsibility: leaders are very committed toward the content, and
responsible for team goals. Duty of organiser to organise plan, strategy and think
positive about the work. And try to motivate the employees and increase their skill and
ability. If responsibility is dedicated to employees than they work more efficiently so
in team responsibility is delegated by each other to improve their motivation.
3. Support each other: Team worker is that person who focus on work which is assigned
and the main task of employees and sometime it play the role of finisher and specialist.
Employees concentrate on the work which allotted is finished or not and specialist
have special, technical skill which help in prompt of employees and solve the problems
and conflicts. Working in team help each other In their difficulties and decisions in

2016.). To Work in team required proper motivation so that they can adjust with different
members of company. Ethical behaviour of managers and workers in company help unit to
work efficiently and make team effective and helpful. For the success of organisation UPS
should have tell employees and members about their responsibility so that they can do
qualified work in business . Utilisation of resources properly is necessary so that cost can be
reduced.

4.1 For the assessment and monitoring of work performance some important factors are

To measure the performance of employees toward their work is necessary for
organisation to check the overall position and level of company. Some technique which help to
appraisal the performance of employees which are..
Organisation can use some ergodic method to control liquidity. Check their quality and
