Executive Summary
Brisbane Multi-Faith Temple (BMT) is a charitable organisation located in Mount Cotton.
The organization is run by a team of volunteers and the chairman named Sam Sharma. The
temple gradually grew prominence. The patronage for the organization also got increased
within a short period of time. Recently, the organization has decided to open additional
temples in Gold Coast, Rocklea, Sunshine Coast and Toowoomba. At Mount Cotton
premises, they had only one admin staff, one cleaner and one small army of volunteers.
The number of employees recently get increased with the rise of temples. They have now
one accountant, five cleaners, one handyman, fifteen priests and twenty admin staffs. A
treasurer, a public officer and a chairman have been hired recently. They have decided to
adopt the IT services. The report will highlight the benefits that information service can
offer to the BMT. The issues that BMT can face while adopting the information services
will be showcased in the report. They want patron to donate money online, they want
customers to order and but food products online. The report will elaborate how the
information system can facilitate the customer service. There may be security issues and
those issues can be mitigated by installing antivirus software. The adaptation of cloud
services by BMT will be detailed in the report.

Introduction
Brisbane Multi-Faith Temple (BMT) is the charitable organisation that has planned
to adopt the information system for their premises to embellish the business activities.
They have opened additional temples recently to increase their sales. Sam Sharma, the
chairman of the temple is concerned about the adaptation of IT services and has hired a
consultant.
The consultant is responsible to educate Sam about the possible benefits that
information service offers. The report will highlight this issues that they can face and how
to mitigate those issues. BMT’s usage of internet and its advantage has also been
showcased as well.
Answer to question 1
Communication: The information system can embellish the communication
process. The communication procedures between the employees, the stakeholders get
facilitated with the help of effective communication. They can work in collaborate fashion
(O’Brien & Marakas, 2011). The communication can enhance the CRM as well. The
better customer service can be beneficial for increasing the sales and productivity of any
business and (BMT) is no exception.
Operations: The companies can work fast and efficiently with the adoption of the
information system. The companies can get cost-effective service as well. BMT can get
the similar benefits as well. They can get the competitive advantage over other companies.
Decisions: The information system can help them to have appropriate, up-to-date
information. Thus the companies can make decisions with confidence (Peppard & Ward,
2016). The information system gives predictions for the key indicators of profits, sales and
costs.
Records: The information system to store digital records in the system and
database which are easily accessible and can be modified whenever required.
Answer to question 2
The business issues that BMT face have been listed in order of priority-
BMT is the charitable organization founded in the at Mount Cotton. Later the
temple gained popularity. They started to open additional temples, now with the increase
of additional temples, the number of staffs also get increased (Laudon & Laudon, 2013).
BMT’s chairman Sam Sharma is concerned about how to manage the additional
employees and the additional temple.
BMT has planned to adopt the IT services for their premises. The employees are
adaptable to the latest technology and the IT services. It is a matter of concern whether
their new approach to move to IT will satisfy the customers or not. There are concerns
about the security breaches as well. The malware attack can pose threats to the temple’s
system as well as the database.
Sam has decided to initiate the e-commerce services over their website. The
website is still in beta mode. Therefore, Sam is concerned about how the entire e-
commerce model will be carried out.

The information system will definitely help BMT to gain the competitive
advantage over others. The information system will help BMT employees to communicate
with each other across all the branches or temples.
The customers can order food products from their site. They can see the
availability of food products and can order accordingly. They can choose products also.
The employees can connect with the customers all throughout day and night 24x7. Thus
the customers can get advanced customer service.
The patrons can donate online, can sponsor specific events (Khodakarami & Chan,
2014). Sam has planned that if any patron wants to donate some money they receive the
thank you message in return. The information system can make all the things possible.
The information system can be helpful to store, access and retrieve data as soon as
possible. Simply installing a firewall and antivirus into the system BMT can secure their
system. These are the possible benefits That BMT can get.
Answer to question 4
BMT can be benefitted from the cloud technology and the cloud services. The
Amazon AWS is the cloud vendor that offers the IaaS infrastructure. BMT can adopt the
AWS cloud services for conducting their business activities (Bermudez et al., 2013). The
AWS provides the advanced, secured hardware and software solutions adopting which
they can use to get their job done. AWS update their database so BMT can get access to
the updated cloud OS all the time. Also, the system is malware free. Therefore, BMT will
not have to worry about the security breaches.
Answer to question 5
The internet connection is a must need to conduct the business activities nowadays.
BMT adopting the information services can get various advantages. The extranet
connection will help them to connect the employees across all the temple premises. The
internet connection will help them to carry out the e-commerce activities, they can serve
better customer service (Vlosky, Fontenot & Blalock, 2015). The internet connectivity will
help them to carry out the business activities over the cloud, can help them to store, access
and retrieve files with ease.
Answer to question 6
BMT must propose a specific model beforehand, must analyze the model and
implement the model accordingly. The employees and other stakeholders must agree with
the proposed model too. Afterwards, BMT can implement the model or can implement the
suitable changes (Clegg, Kornberger & Pitsis, 2015). In this way, the issues that can arise
after the implementation of the model can be mitigated beforehand. Following this
approach, BMT can successfully configure the information system on their premises.

The hackers can attack the system and database of the BMT and can hack the vital
information of the database. The vital information can be customers’ personal data,
customers’ financial data as well as BMT’s financial data. BMT can face huge losses if
those data get breached or compromised (Frostenson et al., 2017). BMT can lose the
customer base also the reputation can get endangered.
BMT must install a firewall in their system as that can check the unauthorized access.
They must install the antivirus software in their system to safeguard their system from the
hackers.
Summary and Recommendations
It can be concluded from the above discourse that BMT must adopt the information
service for good. The report has clarified about how the information system can improve
the business operations of the temple in mere future. The report has highlighted the vital
information requirements for that they can gain the competitive advantage. The business
challenges, as well as the business issues, can be solved and the business operations can
get embellished a lot by the information system and that has been highlighted in the report.
The cloud computing services from Amazon AWS and the benefits that they can offer has
been showcased in the report as well. The change management concept has been
elaborated in the report as well.
