INTRODUCTION
Personal development plan is documenting a procedure of self-analysis, personal
reflection as well as honest appraisal of strength and weakness of individual. In addition to
this, before designing personal development plan individual have to conduct skill audit
because this will assist them in analysing strength and weakness. After analysing weakness
individual design personal development plan which help in overcoming with weakness in
effective manner. This report is divided in 4 tasks i.e., Skills audit analysis, Personal
development plan, Work based project (short, medium- and long-term goals) as well as
reflection. All these will assist in better development of individual as well as also help in
conducting activities related to better future in effective manner.
TASK 1 Skills audit analysis
Skills audit is systematic assessment related to research skills as well as knowledge.
In addition to this, audit must have to provide evidence related to existing or developing
competence. Moreover, skill audit is related with need analysis which simply means
identifying any requirement for training or personal development. In simple term it can be
said that, skill audit as well as need analysis have two sides i.e., what individual has as well
as what they need. Furthermore, initial skill audit and needs analysis is reflective procedure
as well as it should be update on regular basis.
Mr. B is 27 years old graduate working for well known hospitality sector company as
well as he is in 2nd year into graduate recruitment programme. Mr. B joined Organisation
while at university as well as transferred to his present department following graduation.
After completion a year Mr. B encourage to enter a managerial leadership and management
development programme. After this, he re-joined his department as junior manager.
For doing skill audit there is requirement of conducting SWOT analysis because this
assist in identifying strength, weakness, opportunity and threat. Explanation of SWOT
analysis in relation of my own skills ae as follows :-

My administration skills are good
which provide assistance to me in
completing task related to manging
business in effective manner. It
includes several responsibilities such
as filing paperwork, meeting with
My major weakness is time
management as I am not able to
manage things along with their
required time period. Moreover, for
gaining professional opportunities it
is essential for me to manage things

internal and external stakeholders,
presenting important information,
developing processes and many
more.
Another strength is confidence
which provide assistance to me in
conducting activities in effective
manner. With the assistance of this
strength, I will be able to
communicate with everyone and
share important information in
effective manner.
I am good in team building which is
important for working as a manager
and leader. In addition to this, team
building is one of the essential skills
as it helps in developing team within
effective manner.
in appropriate manner and finish
them within required duration.
Another weakness is decision
making skills as I can’t take
decisions related to any topic in easy
manner. This may create several
difficulties for me as I will not able
to take decision regarding any
important topic in better manner.
Communication is one of my
weakness which I have to develop
because it may create difficulty for
me in communicating with others in
daily life as well as while working as
a professional.
I am not good in planning which can
be related to anything. Although,
inappropriate planning results in
creating difficulties or issues in
conducting any project.
Opportunity Threat
My confidence will bring several
opportunities for me as I will able to
gain better advantages as an
professional in effective manner.
Team building skills will bring
opportunity for me as I will able to
work as manager and leader in
effective manner. Along with this,
designing proper team and
accomplishing desired goals and
objectives.
Along with this, through
administrative skills I will able to
gain better opportunities and can
conduct activities within more
effective manner.
I am weak in time management
skills which become threat for me as
I can’t accomplish desired goals and
objectives within required duration.
Communication skills is another
weakness which I need to develop
because it may create several issues
for me as I will not be able to discuss
my issues with other as well as can’t
share information.
I am not able to do planning related
to anything in effective manner
which may create issue for me in
conducting any activity within
effective manner.
