Overview of lesson:
In this lesson, the learners will learn the relevance of adverb as a part of a sentence and will be
familiar with its uses. For that reason, this particular lesson will revolve around teaching
definition of adverb through showing some basis examples. In addition, the knowledge of
different types of adverb will be taught using deductive method. Various activities will be given
to the students (both group and individual activities) for providing them with opportunities to use
adverbs. Finally, the lesson will end with teacher’s assessment and feedback. Different tasks will
be given to the gifted students with comparably less guidance from the teacher.
Grouping Strategy: For this lesson, the students will be grouped firstly according to their
abilities. After that the gifted students will be identified by evaluating their assessment sheets
and their day to day academic performances. Then cluster grouping strategy will be used to put
all the gifted students in one separate classroom (hoagiesgifted.org, 2019). On the other hand, the
general classroom with learners having mixed abilities will be put into small groups for a limited
period of time based on interest and learner profile. Finally, flexible grouping strategy will be
used to include the gifted students in the mixed ability group of students in one classroom by
switching groups successively as per the needs of particular phases of lesson (teachhub.com,
2019).
