The key approaches of operation management by managers and leaders at Toyota will be considered. Also, the factors affecting the business environment will be discussed (Genovese and et.al., 2017). TASK 1 LO1 P1. Definer and compare different roles and characteristics of a modern leader and manager. The leaders and managers plays a very crucial role in the management of the operations of a company. At Toyota Group, leaders and managers will play a very deep role in the efficient carrying out of the various operations of the company. They will play various roles at the Toyota Group and will have the following characteristics: Roles of an efficient leader or manager are: They will play a very important role in the management of the operations at the work place. They will act as a communication channel between the top management and the employee's of the company (Harmon, 2015). They will conduct the efficient analysis and evaluation of the various factors that can affect the overall operations and productivity of the company. They will see through the effective management of the various issues and find the appropriate solution's that are needed to be taken into consideration for effective running of the various operations in the company. 1
Besides this, they will look after the effective evaluation of the various employee's and will arrange the various sort of training programs in order to improve their efficiency (Heizer, 2016). Characteristics of an efficient leader or manager are: Honesty:A leader or a manager must be honest in his actions and work in order to motivate its subordinates and employee's to work with integrity. Communication skills:The communication skills of a manager or a leader helps the company to meet the requirements of the company and provide the business organisation with efficient and motivated employee's. Confidence:The leader or the manager must be confident to convey the thoughts and messages of himself as well as the others that helps the company to carry out its operations in a better way (Kerzner and Kerzner, 2017). Positive attitude:The manager or the leader should have a positive attitude towards the work as it will help him to gain a better productivity and meet the requirement of the company. Apart from it, the positive attitude of the leader or the manager will motivate the employees to work in a better way with dedication. LO2 P2.
