Antibacterial resistance in Gram-negative bacteria is a significant public health issue worldwide. It leads to increased risk of diseases, illnesses, and death. Lack of access to clean water, poor infection and disease prevention, and misuse and overuse of antimicrobials are contributing factors. Examples of bacteria and antimicrobials include Klebsiella pneumoniae, E. coli, and Colistin. To tackle the issue, a united multisectoral approach is required, including investment and innovation in research and development of new antimicrobial medicines, diagnostic and vaccines tools.
