INTRODUCTION
Employability skills refers to essential abilities that includes knowledge, expertise level,
and mindset that is required for achieving success in modern workplace. These are important
qualifications for particular job position and necessary for bringing efficiency and effectiveness
in performance. NHS is an public health care institution situated in England. This organisation
provides services like dental treatment, optical care, mental health etc. It has around 1.6 million
employees. This report is about employability skills required for an health care professional. It w
includes analysis of responsibilities and performance objectives required and ways in which it
can be made effective. Motivational techniques to improve quality of performance and time
management skills will be discussed. Team dynamics for health and social care is another key
focus of this report. Methods in which problems related with work place can be identified and
ways to overcome these issues will be discussed in this study.

1.1 Prepare set of own responsibilities and performance objectives
Own responsibilities and performance objectives are related with self management of
health care professionals. It refers to ability of individuals to give best outcome in their job. This
helps individuals to determine their personal capabilities and assess own strengths and
weaknesses. It is very important for NHS to achieve competitive advantages. As an health care
professional, I need to perform following responsibilities-
Diagnose and treat patients- I must treat patients attentively by updating my scientific
information and treat them in right way. It is required to prescribe right medicine and tell them
advantages, disadvantages and risk related with proposed treatment.
Provide information- I should explain risk factors and chances of failure of suggested
treatment, so that patients can take decision properly. It is necessary to inform them about
positive and negative impacts of direction.
Respect confidentiality- Professional secrecy is one of the major responsibility in this job
role. I cannot reveal personal information provide by patients as it is against the law. It can be
done only if there is fair reason and consent of patients has been taken.

Ensure free consent- It refers to situation in which service taker agrees for treatment.
Their consent should be free and informed with full knowledge of care they are offered. This is
the reason why it is necessary to keep them informed and provide every information about health

Along with this, as an employee of NHS I have to make sure that none of my function will affect

determining danger so that thaey can be cured in perfect manner. There are number of skills I
need to bring in my working to achieve required objectives given below-
 I am learning the ways to reduce risk factors that are common in this profession.
 I am becoming more effective in taking quick decisions in important situations.
Along with that, it is required to grab more information and knowledge that are essential
to make my performance more effective.

Health care professionals are integral part of an organisation involve in health and social
care. I am responsible for treating patients well and provide them with effective diagnose. It is
very important that all weak factors of my performance will be improved. Some initiatives can
be taken as recommendations for improvement (Cottrell, 2015). These are as follows-
 Employees knows the conditions of organisation so that they can generate ideas for
development so firstly I need to evaluate the opportunities available for improvement.
 It is required to be updated about changes in scientific knowledge and technological
advancement related with healthcare sector.
 I can enhance my knowledge and skills by attending effective training and development

provide them proper treatment.
Therefore, these improvements will help in my self development and also facilitate in achieving

trusted customers. It is known for best quality medical services that attracts more patients. This is
due to hard work of its professionals. Therefore, it is very important to adopt effective
motivational techniques to improve quality of performance to achieve more success in this
competitive world. Some of the methods to motivate these professionals are as follows-
Skill development programs- Such programs helps in uplifting and growing knowledge
and skills of health care professionals by providing counselling from experienced persons (Ryan,
2012). This leads to improvement in performance and motivating these employees.

Setting objectives- It is required that, organisation will set some targets for them which
are to be achieved in specific duration. This motivates them to bring efficiency and quality in
their performance.
Good surrounding- Environment and work culture of an organisation plays an vital role

better performance. It is very useful in encouraging them to give best outcomes through their
workings. Therefore, it is most common tool adopted by various organisations for the purpose of

work and give best possible results.
Along with that, NHS is trying to conduct various motivational programmes supported by
appropriate data and information in order to encourage employees to perform better.

professionals is important to maintain good relations between them and it is useful in reducing
chances of conflicts (Benson, Morgan, and Filippaios, 2014). It brings mutual understanding
amongst them which facilitates in making healthy surrounding in enterprise.
Quality management- Maintaining quality of performance of these professionals will
help in reducing risk factors and grab trust if more patients towards the services of NHS.
Recruit skilled employees- Hiring experienced and highly effective professionals reduces
chances of deficiency in services related with health care (McQuaid, 2013). This plays major role
in handling medical equipments wisely and providing appropriate course of medicine to patients.

straightforward complex issues.
Trial and Error- This method is a direction of problem solving in which figures are
distinguished but these are not functions. It is an alternative technique which is helpful when
other method are not working. In case there are other alternatives available than this method is
not useful to solve problems (Rosenberg, Heimler, and Morote, 2012).
4.2 Prepare an appropriate strategy for resolving a particular problem
Appropriate strategies to resolve a specific problem are as follows-
Analyse the problem- In NHS, it is required to understand the problem before solving it.
It means find out the intensity of that situation. At this phase, problems are identifies and its
nature is discovered. This is useful in making proper plans to deal with this problem.
Make plan- At this stage, plans are made to provide solution to that problem. It includes
deciding in advance what to do, when to do and how it will be done. This consists developing

helps in bringing creative ideas and strengthen structure of organisation by executing these
strategies in proper manner. It can be done by following ways-
Involve staff and management- For implementing a strategy, it is essential to involve
employees in planning. This will help them in knowing what changes will occur in their
workings due to this implementation.
Invest in training- For implementing new idea to business, it is necessary to invest some
amount in training. This will help them in adopting alteration and make them understand how
these changes will benefit them and organisation both. This may lead to smooth implementation
of these strategies.
Include outside factors- Before implementing new strategies, it is important to consider
outside factors such as customers and vendors. This will assist in knowing how these new ideas
