Assessor Instructions The assessment is made when all of the shortanswer fields in the template are completed.These are to be completed according to theassessment guide and decision making rules.Final decision is to be made and recorded onAssessment result below and on the resultstemplate via the Course Coordinator.Required documents and equipmentAssessment guideAssessment Task 2assessment task appendicesaccess to computer lab.Instructions for assessorThis assessment task requires the client to leadand facilitate their team in implementing theproject plan documented in Assessment 1. Inaddition to your role as assessor, you must act asthe client’s manager/supervisor in this project.Clients need to demonstrate their ability to makedecisions, resolve issues and develop teamcohesion. They must also support their team’sgoals and objectives, encourage responsibility fortheir own work, provide feedback, and serve asrole models. They must hold progress meetingswith their teams.Prepare to provide clients with feedback in theform of an issue about the team (e.g. fairdistribution of work) or a complication (e.g. lack ofresources or timeline crunch) to be workedthrough by the team led by the client.Clients are required to hold a project progressmeeting in which they review team progress, andduring which they present information on andevaluate their team’s performance in the projectso far. The client must demonstrate formalthinking techniques, seek input from others andconduct training/coaching/mentoring sessions toaddress issues identified in their training planners.The client is required to report on any issues orproblems the team has encountered, includingconflict. (Conflict resolution skills will beaddressed in Assessment Task 3.) Issues andaction taken must be recorded in an issues log.Clients are required to present feedback collectedfrom their team on their effectiveness as a leader,and provide a brief reflection on their success as ateam leader to you, the assessor, at a 15-minuteinformal progress meeting.

BSBLDR403 – Lead team effectivenessAssessment 2 Team Project ReviewPlanning the assessmentRecommended date for assessment: During Session 5.Time required for assessment may vary as required by individual work teams.The client must:participate in a team project planning meetingparticipate in a meeting with management (assessor)submit:a project plan, with goals and objectives, deliverables and communications a portfolio of supporting information and at least one project management tool, such as a schedule, action plan, Gantt or milestone chart, a record of addressing innovation and productivity measures, a gap analysis and/or skills matrix, and training planners for each team membera team work schedulecompleted meeting agenda and meeting minutes templates of team planning meeting.You will need to schedule two meetings with the client:initial meeting to approve (as management) the client’s project choiceA project progress presentation.A 15-minute informal interview in which the client reports on their team’s progress mid-way through implementation of the project.You should give the client the opportunity to inform you of any unresolved issues related to theteam.You may then give the client appropriate advice on how to deal with the issue (for example, mentoring or coaching) and the client should in turn communicate this back to the team.It is important to provide feedback to the client that they will then be able to provide to their team in Assessment Task 2.Ref: Marking Guide for the Assessment & Mayfield Education Assessment Guide : Planning & Conducting Assessment Policy Page 3 of 18Version 1: 25 February 2016
