Assessor Instructions The assessment is made when all of the short answer fields in the template are completed.These are to be completed according to the assessment guide and decision making rules.Final decision is to be made and recorded on Assessment result below and on the resultstemplate via the Course Coordinator.Required documents and equipmentAssessment guideAssessment Task 2assessment task appendicesaccess to computer lab.Instructions for assessorThis assessment task requires the student to lead and facilitate their team in implementing theproject plan documented in Assessment 1. In addition to your role as assessor, you must actas the student’s manager/supervisor in this project.Students need to demonstrate their ability to make decisions, resolve issues and developteam cohesion. They must also support their team’s goals and objectives, encourageresponsibility for their own work, provide feedback, and serve as role models. They must holdprogress meetings with their teams.Prepare to provide students with feedback in the form of an issue about the team (e.g. fairdistribution of work) or a complication (e.g. lack of resources or timeline crunch) to be workedthrough by the team led by the student.Students are required to hold a project progress meeting in which they review team progress,and during which they present information on and evaluate their team’s performance in theproject so far. The student must demonstrate formal thinking techniques, seek input fromothers and conduct training/coaching/mentoring sessions to address issues identified in theirtraining planners. The student is required to report on any issues or problems the team hasencountered, including conflict. (Conflict resolution skills will be addressed in AssessmentTask 3.)Issues and action taken must be recorded in an issues log. Students are required topresent feedback collected from their team on their effectiveness as a leader, and provide abrief reflection on their success as a team leader to you, the assessor, at a 15-minute informalprogress meeting.The student is also required to prepare a written project progress report, including theirreflections, and submit minutes of the meeting to you, the assessor. Students should understand that the content of their projects does not need to include highlytechnical information or completely accurate budgets or cost estimates. Learners are notexpected to provide highly specific details regarding fields they lack experience in. Sufficientresearch on the project should be encouraged to facilitate understanding of team objectivesand tasks.Note: This assessment must take place during the group activities in Session 5.

BSBLDR403 – Lead team effectivenessAssessment 2 Team Project ReviewPlanning the assessmentRecommended date for assessment: During Session 5.Time required for assessment may vary as required by individual work teams.The student must:participate in a team project planning meetingparticipate in a meeting with management (assessor)submit:a project plan, with goals and objectives, deliverables and communications a portfolio of supporting information and at least one project management tool, such asa schedule, action plan, Gantt or milestone chart, a record of addressing innovation and productivity measures, a gap analysis and/or skills matrix, and training planners for each team membera team work schedulecompleted meeting agenda and meeting minutes templates of team planning meeting.You will need to schedule two meetings with the student:initial meeting to approve (as management) the student’s project choiceA project progress presentation.A 15-minute informal interview in which the student reports on their team’s progress mid-way through implementation of the project.You should give the student the opportunity to inform you of any unresolved issues related to the team.You may then give the student appropriate advice on how to deal with the issue (for example, mentoring or coaching) and the student should in turn communicate this back to the team.It is important to provide feedback to the student that they will then be able to provide to their team in Assessment Task 2.Ref: Marking Guide for the Assessment & Mayfield Education Assessment Guide : Planning & Conducting Assessment Policy Student InstructionsRead each question carefully.
