Windows Installation Steps
Step 1:
The first step is to check the pre-requirements to install the software ("Download Windows 8.1 Disc
Image (ISO File)" 2019). The software requires 64-bit architectures. And the operating system must
be Windows 8 pro or windows 8.1. And the minimum RAM required to install this software is
4GB.
Step 2:
The second step is to set up Hyper-V ("Step-By-Step: Enabling Hyper-V For Use On Windows 8.1"
2019). Here the step started with the process of hardware virtualization. We must enable it
through the BIOS settings. After that run the system normally. Search Charm in the start screen.
After that, we need to enter the command "turn windows features on or off". Now enable the
Hyper-V. Now load the Virtual Switch Manager. Check the External option is selected in the
dialogue box shown. Select the appropriate NIC. Now the process completed. In the below
section the step by step screenshots of the windows server installation process.
Ensure that the virtualization technology enabled in BIOS setting.

Ensure the Hyper V check box selected.

Ensure the External option is highlighted similar to the given image. It shows that the external
option is selected.
Now select the appropriate NIC. In some times systems shows different NIC’s. On this case we
need to select the most appropriate one.

The operating system selected is Windows 8.1 Enterprise. It supports
Hyper-V. So different operating system can be installed using Hyper-V and
new App can be tested in the guest operating system (McFedries, 2012).
