INTRODUCTION
Managing project is the procedure of initialising, controlling and exctuing by the team in
respect to accomplish the goals and objective in a given period of time. Further it is one of the
effective way of managing the project and remove all the risk which are involved in it. The
present report is based on the given scenario of TSK bearing Ltd which deals in designing and
manufacturing of industrial bearing for automotive industry. This report will cover a new project
which is introduced by an organisation for gaining success. Along with this, different types of
activities which is required to manage and successfully implementing this project will be
discussed.
TASK 1
1.) Types of project
TSK bearing company is focusing on manufacturing project with the aim of developing a
new technology that can be fit in the cars for making it more innovative. Further this will be
supply to suppliers into different global car manufacturing plants. The reason behind developing
new technology is that it helps in gaining competitive advantage. Further this type of project will
be completed in the factory or home-based environment. The other types of projects are known
as the managing project. It is essential to manage the project so that it can accomplished
successfully.
2.) Scope management
In scope management a set of process is being defined and mapped accordingly. It is an effective
technique in order to accomplish the project and make sure that project manager allocate
resources successfully (Addis, 2012).. In this project, TSK bearing limited is focusing on
launching a new technology that is Mild Hybrid which will help in gaining competitive
advantage. For this project allocated budget is $ 12 million pound and it will be completed
within a year 2018. Further for implementing it successfully manager will provide training and
development facilities to employees.
3.) Difference among Gantt chart and critical path
For a project management Gantt chart is a tool that can be used for schedule the time of each and
every activity. Further it shows the visual representation of the tome which is consume in each
activity and impact on delay (Griffith, Stephenson and Watson, 2014).. On the other side, in
critical path the dependencies show between the given task. Along with the logical relationship

between the project so that with its starting and finished date. With the use of Gantt chart it
become easy to monitor the progress of the project and complete on time. It made easier for the
project manager to see its needs and work accordingly. Further Gantt chart comes under the
category of bar chart and critical path come under the flow category.
4.) Way to measure the success of the project
It is important for the company to measure success of the project and it can be done through
review the quality and completion of each and every activity (Walker, 2015).. If the project
quality is good then it will be considered as a effective. Further the project management is on
higher probity and it cost is $ 12 million pounds. Along with this to measure the success the
project, stakeholder satisfaction level can be recognised.
5.) Managing a change within a project
It is also essential to manage the project on time. For this purpose, first objective need to
set and defined in front of project team member. Further different strategies will be made so that
it can be accomplished on time. For monitoring the progress control process can be installed and
implement in all the stages. Along with this change management process can be used for
bringing the changes within the plan.
6.) Evaluating, monitoring and controlling the project
For the progress and impact of the project it is important to made judgement and evaluate
the project. Further project is need to monitored continuously so that changes can be made if
required. Through tracking the process of implementation, it become easy to analyse the
mistake and steps taken to remove it. There are various method which can be used for

Background
In modern era, there are many new technologies are introduced in the market and it made tough
for the company to survive in competitive market. To meet the needs and demand of the
customer has become tough and great challenge for the firm (De Bruijn and Ten Heuvelhof,
2010).. Therefore, to accomplish success organisation need to implement new technologies and
make innovative products and services for their customers so that they can easily grab attention

of large number of customer. For this purpose, attention need to be paid by the firm on the
practice the way of managing project successfully. To survive in market different car
manufacturing companies are introducing advance technologies. All the issues companies are
facing because of the globalisation and huge competition. Therefore, for gaining competitive
advantage and expand the business TSK bearing lt. is focusing on introducing new technology
that is a mild hybrid system within the car as it makes the use of electronic motor. It will made
easier for the firm to survive in the UK market and increase sales and profitability.
Aim: The main aim of TSK bearing Ltd is that it can introduce a mild hybrid technology within the
cars for survive in global market.
Objectives: The main objectives related to the aim of TSK beaning are as follows
 To gain competitive advantage and give tough competition to firms in global market
 To implement Mild Hybrid technology within the cars.
 To accomplish project in fixed budget that is $12 million pounds
 To increase sales upto 12% within the 7 months
 To enhance customer satisfaction level and retain them
 To complete the project within a 6 month

Project manager: Project manager need to delegate the roles and responsibilities to employees
on time. Further it control all the resources which are used for the project (Hallowell and Wehle,
2013)..
Steering committee: There role is to make decision related to work and then and overall sight of
the project is in their in charge and they also represent al the significant are of the participation.
Executive committee: Entire executive committee was presented in front of the firm and board of
directors are included in this activity.
Scope: A new technology which is implementing by TSK bearing limited is known Mild Hybrid
car which make use of the electronic motor. In this all the work is done with the help of
machinery and this electronic motor work as power booster. Along with this, with the use of this
technology a fuel can be saved as because engine of gasoline will be shut down when vehicle is
stop or break down (Dykstra, 2011).. It will be efficient enough that is assist in restarting the gas
engine motor. Therefore, the main aim is to develop this project within the $12 million pounds
and introduced it in market within a year 2018. The budget of factory or building where this
technology will be developed is included in $12 million pounds. Apart from this to increase the
sales pre-order booking will be started when project is at last stage so that target can be
accomplished on time.
Resources: There are different types of resources which is required in this project so that it can
be accomplish successfully. However, it is important for project manager to ensure that all the
resources acquired on time and in less cost. Here below are proved some of the essential
resources:
Material good: For introducing new technology that is Mild hybrid it is essential to have
software licence. Along with this hardware is also needed such as cabling etc.
Capital: It is important to purchase factor or building where entire project work can be carried
out.
People: Human resources is one of the important resources as highly skill employees are needed
for this project and project training and guidance need to give them (Nicholas and Steyn, 2017)..

There are some roles and responsibilities of the staff member and project manager which are as

Project manager: Role of project manager is to manage the entire team and coordinate each and
every activity effectively. Along with this it also need to measure the risk of the project and try
to minimise it so that each and every activity can be carry out on time without risk (Ilozor and
Kelly, 2012).. One of the main role of project manager is to resolve the conflict which can take
place between the team members.
Project team member: The role of team member work under the guidance of project manager
and they need to complete each and every activity within the given period of time(Lientz, 2012).

Financial team: Role of financial team to ensure that all the fund is allocated on time and no
unnecessary expenses take place.
Quality team: in order meet the quality and quality guideline can be developed and followed it
effectively.
Technician: The project is to developed new technology that is mild hybrid car for this purpose
proper coordination between technician and team member is required. Along with this, changes
is need to made if required by technician (Kubba, 2010)..
Project life cycle
For introducing a new technology that is Hybrid it is important for the firm to follow a proper
steps so that it can be implemented successfully without missing any important activity. There
are some steps in the project life cycle which are as follows:
Initiation:
The first step if start the project so for initialising the plan TSK bearing ltd. Required to develop
a project charter as in it all the activities and resources are mentioned which are required for the
project(Lientz, 2012).. Along with this time and deadline of each activities are need to included
in it. Further all the employees and staff members who are involved in this project are mentioned
with the goal and objective of the project

Communication management:
According to the company the entire project team will determine different communication
method and policies for successful completion of project. It is important to communicate with

CONCLUSION
From the above report it is concluded that before implementing any project it is important to
properly plan it and review. There are different steps involved in the project that will help in
completing the project successfully. Further There are different types of resources which are
required for implementing the plan successfully such as human resources, capital etc. further it is
concluded that project manager play significant role as it delegate works to team member and
resolve conflict between them. Further it is important to complete all the activities of the project
on time as delay of one activity can increase cost and time of the project. All the project should
be properly monitored and controlled so that risk can be avoided and it is completed on time.
