INTRODUCTIONToday every business organisation is competing with rival firms in same industry tocapture maximum share of market. Aldi is one of leading companies in retail sector in UnitedKingdom as well as all over world. To maintain its standard and image among customer, itsemployees play a vital role as they are responsible for all types of operations and activities ofbusiness (Lamond and Zheng, 2010). So human resource management is very important partof company and has several functions to help in gaining maximum profit and revenue in longterm. Some of them are recruitment, selection, training, development, maintaining workcondition and establishing a healthy relationship among employees at workplace. Infollowing report, weakness and strength of approaches will be discussed. There are differentHRM practices which benefit to both employer an employees of company A proper humanresource management helps in capturing a huge target market through maximising customersatisfaction and employee productivity in future (Beer, Boselie and Brewster, 2015)Asworkers have major impact on crucial decisions of firm, they must have good relationship togive their fullest efforts at work.TASK 1P1. Purpose and the functions of HRMPurpose-One of major purpose of human resource management is that it makes sureif employees are making efforts to contribute in company’s success in future. This utilisescapabilities of workers so that maximum productivity can be gained and quality of productscan be improved (Uysal, 2014). As Aldi wants to open a new branch in Wembley, it has toselect some efficient employees so that right person can be placed at right place to dosuitable tasks. Another purpose of human resource management is to satisfy employeesthrough rewards and promotion to higher designation which motivate to work harder forfirm in future. It is used by company to improve existing performance of human resourceand uplift standard of company. Aldi uses HRM to retain currant employees by fulfillingtheir individual goals and considerable compensation to them. As employees can foster orhinder sales and quality of product, they are made more efficient by regular training anddevelopment programmes. To provide occupational safety, HRM is needed so thataccidental incidents can be avoided through recruiting skilled and well-trained people at3

company especially in new outlet in Wembley.Functions-There are many different functions of human resource managementwhich are important foe Aldi to accomplish its objectives and goals of profit maximisationand revenue generating (Giauque, Anderfuhren and Varone, 2013). One of major functionsis recruitment and selection in which Human resource manager uses to hire most suitablecandidate for company’s betterment and its brand. Through this function, company can fulfilnumber of vacant positions and maintain productivity of firm. A better employee willdeliver positive support to make customer satisfied. Another function of human resourcemanagement of Aldi is orientation in which company assigns roles ad duties to employeesso that they can be clear about what they should do to contribute in firm competency.Another function of HRM is that manager tries to keep a healthy and friendly atmosphere atworkplace so that no employee feels inferior in comparison to others. If there is a conflict isfound superiors make effort t resolve it as soon as possible and maintain the decorum ofworkplace. Last but not least function of HRM is training and development which helps insharpening existing skills of employees and make them more efficient to improve productquality in long term and retain all current clients as well as attract new consumers. Aproper staffing in firm can lead to improved performance of product among customers in longterm. Along with many benefits of these aspects, there are some weak points which can harmprogress of business organisation as followings.Strength-As new people have fresh views and idea which can be used by company tomodify and improving its existing policies and system. So, Aldi recruits’ new talent whichcan add value to organisation in future (Van , 2010). Another positive point of recruitmentand selections application is that it provides better training programmes which help inuplifting productivity of employees and their performance.
