1. Read through the “Belbin’s 9 Team Roles” document available in Moodle and then in the
space below write the role that you would usually assume in a team environment and
provide a short statement to explain your choice.
Considering my qualities and the understanding of who I am, I often assume a chairperson
role. I love coordinating my team and also admire watching people grow in their talents
(Aritzeta, Swailes and Senior, 2007). I can quickly identify new skills from my team
members. Additionally, I can manipulate individuals into achieving the objectives without
them knowing (Belbin, 2018).

2. Complete the assessment activity document located in Moodle and write the role the
activity identified you would usually assume in a team. Was it different to the above? Do
you agree with the results and why have you responded this way?
Based on the calculation from the assessment activity and its analysis table, the totaled points
conclude that I am a coordinator or a chairperson. This conclusion coincides with the
mentioned role in the first question. A total of 6 out of 8 points fall within the letter “c” which
represents the chairperson type role. I am confident in my decisions but at the same keen to
details (Mackechnie, 2013). Furthermore, I am goal oriented and even though I am
manipulative I aim to bring people together in a project (Mindtools, 2018).
