I have been working in the organization for 2 years. In this 2 years I have gained a lots of
experience regarding my work. I have worked on many crucial projects and have played an
important role in many projects. In this situation I am thinking that the salary I am getting is
not enough to justify my work and experience for the company. Apart from that after
comparing the salary with its actual market value I thought that I deserve a hike in the salary
for my position.
What organisational protocol will you use to approach your boss?
I will write email regarding this to my manager. After the meeting with my manger regarding
the hike in the salary, if my request is approved I will forward the mail o the human resource
department along with the recommendations from my manager.
How can you communicate that you deserve special treatment – over and above your
colleagues – without breaching confidentiality and in an ethical manner?
Currently, the company has the policy to give the employees appraisals based on their
performance. In this case, I can get the appraisal based on the past performances in
different projects. I can deserve a hike in the salary because my roles and responsibilities
were significant and well defined and I do not think that it is the violation of the ethics in
organization because this evaluation in form of salary hike is in the policy of the company.
My colleagues are supportive during the development of the project and I think they will also
get the hike in the salary based on their roles and responsibilities.
What motivations drive your boss – that will influence his/her decision?
I give my job as my first priority and try to compile the work within deadline. Apart from that I
like to handle challenging situation and in critical condition try my best to help the team.
Moreover, I try to maintain ethics and the principals of the organization and make it sure that
