INTRODUCTION Research is defined as consideration of study associated with a specific problem using various scientific methods. The following report includes reflection on accomplishing research done on the topic – “Social media effect on buyer behaviour”. Following report will explain various challenges and problems faced by investigators while completing the research. The goal of research is to know the effect of social media on buyer behaviour.My teammates and I worked hard for achieving goals and objectives of this research. Firstly we divided our research in three parts. I chose the research methodology part, other two individuals were given literature review and data analysis and interpretation. Personal contribution to topic The topic of my research is social media effect on buyer behaviour and I took lot of time in thinking to find an interesting topic for doing a research. Social media is a current topic on which every business depends so I thought it would be best to do research on this topic. This research will help to know how behaviour and traits of a consumer change by watching videos and photos on social media. Also nowadays, advertising on social media is playing an important role in increasing the number of consumers (Case, and Haines, 2013). I wrote the submission of topic approval by searching information related to topic. The team was also convinced by this topic and we all started to work towards doing research effectively. I have done a lot of research before finalising the topic for completing the effectively. I think that research topic is the main thing on which whole project depends so the main focus of our team is on this part. Personal contribution to literature review After the topic was approved it was time to search information and data for writing literature review. Whole literature review was written by another member of research but I also suggested some of my views and thoughts about social media advertising. For giving my contribution in writing of literature review, I watched a documentary on social media. After watching this, I researched journal articles related to relationship between consumer behaviour and social media. I gave my collected information to other members so that they can write literature review in proper manner.My topic for research was social media's affect on consumer behaviour. Aim of my project was to analyse role of social media on consumer's decision making. By using social media, it is easy for organisations to increase brand awareness among
customers. Social media marketing has tremendous impact on business and market because performance and growth of business depends on advertising done through social media. By using social media, an individual can figure out what are the products and services and how they can be enhanced. Personal contribution to research methodology After writing the literature review, the next step of project is the research methodology. I collected information regarding social media and it's negative and positive effects on consumer behaviour.As per my opinion, this topic is the best as it is an emerging topic and this includes social media which is trending topic in market.Research methodology is the particular technique and procedure that helps in identifying, processing and selecting information on the topic(Bhil, 2015). There are many methods for research study including approaches, sampling, philosophies, data collection and analysis. It is important for me to understand nature of every tool and apply the best to my research. In doing this research, I considered nature of research topic and found out various methods of collecting data for research(Chitariu, 2015). I these research I used both qualitative as well as quantitative method. After reading about both the researches, I decided to determine objective statistical conclusion and hypothesis for completing this project.This techniqueshashelpedin understandingtopicof research easilyand findingout various challenges associated withsocial media and business.It became easy for me to define and analyse research topic effectively. Secondary analysis was also used by me while completing this project.Secondaryanalysisisknownasgatheringofinformationfordevelopingdeep information about social media and business. I used various books, journals, government sites and articles for collecting information for this research(Pani, 2015). This data will be more economical.Have used secondary method of data collection for identifying and analysing information correctly. Also this information is important for answering research questions about various facts. On the other hand, I also used primary data for completing research. I have carried out primary data techniques to know more about effect of social media effect on buying behaviour of customers. The source of data used in primary research are observations, surveys, personal interviews, etc. I used primary data for collecting authentic and relevant information for research(De Robbio, 2018). Sampling is defined as selecting particular group of people and asking them to provide information about research topic.For completing the given research, I used sampling method and take sample size of 100 respondents as customers. types of sampling like clustering, multi stage, systematic and stratified sampling method. But I used simple random sampling method and this aided in collecting relevant information with the help of probabilistic approach. Questionnaire is the most important part of research for doing primary research. I have used questionnaire techniques for collecting primary data about social media effect on consumer behaviour. While making the questionnaire, I kept research aims and objectives in mind. In this research, I have collected primary facts and figures through email as this is a pocket friendly method. Also, I have collected data through secondary method by using published articles, research papers and different books. I have used qualitative technique as it includes thematic analysis of perspectives, human tendencies and consumer behaviour. The thematic analysis used in the research helped me in analysing aim of research properly(Yan, Jia, Liu and Li, 2015). It also helped in presenting data by categorising it into various categories and themes. I have presented my thematic analysis by using graphs, pie charts, histogram and ratio. This helped me to make my research aim more clear and justified. Reflection on research experience The accomplishment of research was not an easy task. It took a lot of time and efforts to do analysis and interpretation of data effectively in the research. There were many issues and challenges faced by me and other team members while doing this research. But we all worked hard for achieving the goals and objectives of the research(Ye and Huang, 2015). Sometimes, there was less coordination and understanding between me and my partners at initial stage. But with time, we developed a good understanding and bond which helped in achieving the research aims and objectives (Liang,and Wakahara, 2015). While completing this research, I get to develop team building skill and team management. I used to agree with others and also start listening to other team members. We all helped each other at times of failure. Finally I was able to complete my work effectively and achieve research objectives in given time. My strength indicating which sections of the research project I personally wrote andlearning from experience In the given research, I wrote introduction, research questions, research methodology and quantitative research methods. I got to learn a lot while doing this research effectively. Also I have developed many skills for conducting and managing research(Dima and Meghisan-Toma, 2018). Moreover, while doing this project work my main contribution is to write introduction
and research methodology part. I have collected relevant information on effects of social media on consumer's buying behaviour. This increased my knowledge regarding this topic (Jetnikoff, 2015.). I enjoyed while doing this research. Also it was a great experience for me to work with team and achieving the research objectives and aims. I have worked hard and all these efforts have helped me in completing my work in an proper manner.My biggest strength is having good communicationskillsand thishelpedmea lotincollectingrelevant6informationfrom respondents. Also I had analytical skills that helped me to critically evaluate social media advertising in success of company. My patience level was low so there were times when I broke down and unable to accomplish my research work. The outcomes of this research are social media is having an influence on buying behaviour of customers. Social media helps in growth of brand, awareness and aids in gaining valuable insights from them. I have used both primary and secondary data for doing my research effectively. Simple random sampling method is used in which 100 respondents were chosen. This was a tough task for all of us to ask every individual what are their views and thoughts on social media. When I started doing my work, I developed good analytical skills and worked effectively for achieving aims and objectives of research.I have learnt a lot while doing this project. I developed team building and managing skills at the time of conducting research work. My friends were not confident for taking interviews of people so there I stood up helped them. For me it is easy to talk to people. But I am not good at statistical data analysis so at that time I took help from my two partners.There were some areas in which I do not have enough knowledge. Literature review was not up to the mark. We collected data from primary as well as secondary resources.I think we could have done more effective research. If I will do projects like these in future, I will make sure that detailed interviews of individuals is taken. On the other hand, I developed various skills while working to achieve these project aims. CONCLUSION The above discussion helps in determining various challenges and problems faced when accomplishing the project. The above reflection includes thoughts and views related to various research activities and tasks. In the above report many things are discussed related to research experience.
