INTRODUCTION
Change management is the systematic process that support the business person in
understanding the issues and making changes in the organization in effective manner. Change
management is beneficial tool for employees and employer as well. Modern era is highly
competitive, in such complex business world it is very difficult for the firms to sustain in the
market for longer duration (Morden, 2017). In such condition it becomes essential for these firm
that to understand need of changes and make necessary modification in structure, policy of the
company so that overall goal of entity can be accomplished. Successful of change management is
completely depends upon skills and efforts of CEO of company and coordination among
employees.
There are many issues that are faced by entity in the recent era, which force the
organization that to make changes in the workplace. These issues are related with employee
attitude, problems of workers, health and safety issues, organizational structure and behaviour,
stress etc (Haugen and et.al, 2016 pp.1-133). Employees are life blood of business, if they are not
satisfied then it may create issues for the business and entity may get failed to sustain in the
market for longer duration. In such condition it is essential for the firm that to implements
changes and manage these changes properly in order to accomplish its goal significantly.
Companies are required to identify needs of change management ion the organization an
accordingly they have to make changes in their process and activities. There are various models
of changes management. 7'S model is useful framework that helps to analyse strategy, structure,
system, superordinate goal, style, staff of the company. By this way entity can analyses the area
where changes are required the most. SWOT analyses is the method that is beneficial in
identifying strength, weakness, opportunities, Threats of business unit so that management can
make necessary changes in its process in order to resolve its lacking point and improve working
performance of the corporation (Rittinghouse and Ransome, 2016). PESTLE analyses is another
model that supports in measuring external forces that impact on business environment and
accordingly company can make effective strategies so that these forces do not affect its
functioning and company can run its business smoothly.
Company Profile

XYZ company is the medium size firm which aims to offer quality products to consumers
so that they feel satisfied and retain with the brand for longer duration. The main aim of CEO of
the company is to sustain in the market for length period of time and gain competitive advantage.
But for that it is essential for the CEO that to analyses change needs in the workplace and
managing changes significantly (Frynas and Mellahi, 2015).
CEO has realised that attitude of employees are not positive towards the brand, in such
condition they fail to perform their job effectively. This is the main reason that staff turnover rate
is increasing in the company. Furthermore, it is identified that interpersonal relationship between
employees and employers are not so good that impact on business performance. Tall structure of
company is not appropriate for accomplishing its goal.
Purpose of the study
 To understand conceptual framework of change management
 To identify requirements of change in the organization.
 To analyses issues that are currently faced by entity. (Before and after organization
structure)
 To evaluate change management model with reference to XYZ company.
 Top suggest ways through which company can improve its organizational performance
by making changes in its process (Rosenberg et.al, 2016 pp.1913-1920.).
The main reason of conducting this study is that companies are facing huge trouble
because of fluctuating market conditions. In such condition it becomes essential for the
organization that to make changes in its procedure so that it can run its business as per the market
condition. XYZ company is highly required to manage changes well so that it can accomplish its
goal soon. Through this study issues in the organization can be identified that would help the
company in making effective strategies to make changes in the business so that it can meet with
its goal.
Change management is important aspect in the modern era, that can support corporations
in improving efficiency level of performance and gaining competitive advantage (Keohane and
Olmstead, 2016). This research would be beneficial for the organisations in order to identify and
evaluate various models of change management so that entity can be able to implement changes
in the workplace effectively. Furthermore, by going through this investigation XYZ entity can

get information about its improvement areas and it would be able to manage changes in the
workplace significantly.
Changes are essential part of business, if entity aims to sustain in the market for longer
duration then it is essential for the company to make changes in its operational process time to
time. There are various changes that an entity needs to adopt: technological changes, strategic
changes, leadership changes, structure changes etc (Erisman, 2015 pp.151-154). Managing
change is the formal process in which employer has to communicate the needs of modification to
employees properly. This can support in gaining support of workers that may help in achieving
goal of company.
Change management is beneficial process for the business because by this way entity can
run its business as per the market requirements. Change management is the formal planning and
management process that support the employer in fulfilling the consumer demand by making
necessary modification in current process. This encourage people so that they can perform their
duties well and can support well in achieving goal of the organization. Through managing the
changes' entity can identify impact of these alterations on business unit. This is profitable tool
and support in raising effectiveness and efficiency level of corporation to great extent (SWOT
AND PESTEL, 2017).
Current research project is based on XYZ company, being a CEO of the company
individual is planning to manage changes so that overall goal of the firm can be accomplished.
There are many issues that are faced by entity in the recent time. These are interpersonal relation
between employees and employers, organizational structure, employee attitudes, stress level are
the major issues currently faced by XYZ entity. That is the main reason due to which it is
currently unable to provide satisfactory products to consumers ad retaining skilled staff members
in the workplace for longer duration. Present study will discuss need of change management in
the organization. Furthermore, it will analyse issues that are currently faced by entity and will
evaluate models of change management (The McKinsey 7-S Framework, 2017).
ANALYSES
This is an important aspect that enables to develop in depth understanding for the topic
that has to be covered. There are many researches that are carried out on changes management
and by considering the view and data that are gathered by other researchers will enable to
provide appropriate understanding for the topic.

As per Nevin, Rao and Martin, (2014) there are different types of changes that take place
in relation with the business and these are done with an aim to develop positive perception within
the mind of customers. Main focus of any firm to satisfy their service users. There are certain set
of preference that customers have before they made any type of purchases. When these
preference are not met, then it creates negative impact over the business. There are many firms
that deliver their customers with similar set of products and services. This way, people have wide
choice for selecting the companies that will enable to meet their requirements. According to
Denafas, Vitkauskaitė and Ludwig, (2017) there are many resources that are important for
consideration among which support of finance and human resources are highly important.
Employees are the face of organization as they have direct interaction with services users. They
are the one who make use of the service and can also provide their experience that they had by
making use of the products or services. There are different types of strategies that are applied by
the business to make appropriate analysis in which the firm has to conduct research and survey
as it enables to determine the satisfaction level of service users (De Vries Robbé, de Vogel and
Nijman, 2015, p.53). In addition to this, business need to be analysed in such a way that issues
faced from the side of workers and customers should be considered so that management is able
to understand the set of changes that can be made to overcome the problems.
Zoghlami, Hamdi and Jedidi, (2016) stated that change is an organizational process
which enables the workers to commit, accept and understand changes in the business. It is
identified that all employees are not able to accept the changes immediately, there are certain set
of consideration that has to be made in which the information regarding change should be
conveyed to employees so that they are able to accept the changes and put on their full efforts to
make the business grow. According to Viedma, Moity and Moreno, (2015) the rate of
competition is high, there are firms that deliver customers with similar type of products and
services. As per Nevin, Rao and Martin, (2014) changes in technology take place frequently and
when changes are implemented, then there are problems that are faced by workers in which they
do not have appropriate skills to make use of the equipment’s. In this context, workers need to be
delivered with training and development. This is an effective way to improve the skills and
learning for employees. Need of customers and their preference change frequently. When

management identify any type of change, then it enables to business to grow in positive
direction.
There are different types of issues that are faced within XYZ. In this context, it includes
attitude of workers, problems faced by them, stress, organizational behaviour, etc. All these
issues are those that make negatively affect the business performance (Denafas, Vitkauskaitė and
Ludwig, 2017). It is important for the management to have strong interaction with employees so
that they identify the problems and steps are taken to solve them. Motivation plays vital role in
determining and contributing effectively towards the business to grow. As per De Vries Robbé,
de Vogel and Nijman, (2015) employees are given work more than what they can perform. They
fail to perform all the tasks by maintaining the quality. Majority of workers lack skills related
with time management. This causes problem and increases the rate of stress. Apart from this, all
workers need to have strong interaction with each other. When a task is person by a single
person, then the total time consumed by them will be more when the same task is performed by a
group.
There different type of models that can be used by the business to determine the areas in
which changes need to be made. With this respect, it includes SWOT, PESTLE, etc. that enables
to list out the areas in which management need to work and strategies to be made so that they are
able to implement changes. In order to implement change, key workers should be set and time to
time research should be conducted (Zoghlami, Hamdi and Jedidi, 2016, pp.604-611). This way,
firm can set up activities that will be favourable enough to make changes. Apart from this, there
are steps that have to be taken in to consideration, when these are followed, then management is
able to implement changes. Further, it consist of Lewin’s change management in which there are
three stages involved which are Unfreeze, change and refreeze. Moreover, it includes McKinsey
7 S Model in which there seven stated involved in implementing the changes within the business
in effective manner. This way business gets to attain their goals and objectives that are set in
positive manner.
Need of change management
Change management is the process that can help the firms in making changes and dealing
with these alterations effectively. There are many issues that are currently faced by the
organization. One of the main issues in XYZ company is that employees of the cited firm are
facing issues. Their attitude are not positive towards the brand. The main reason of these

problems is that company is adopting tall organizational structure. Due to tall structure workers
are unable to discuss their problems with management effectively. They have to follow strict rule
sand regulation which impact on their moral to great extent. Workers attitude is negative towards
XYZ company because they do not get any additional benefits and rewards from the
management (Rosenberg et.al, 2016 pp.1913-1920). This discourage them and they do not feel
happy in the workplace. It reflects in their working performance level. In such condition it
became essential for the XYZ that to make changes in its organization structure so that people
feel happy and their attitude can be positive towards the brand. Alteration in organizational
stricture support the firm in retaining skilled employees in the workplace for longer duration and
making them positive towards the brand. This would be beneficial for the CEO to deal with
consumers well and provide them satisfactory services.
Another issue due to which changes are needed in XYZ is that poor interpersonal
relationship between employees and employers. This is considered as major problems because if
entity does not have strong relationship with its employees then it would not be able to
understand their needs which may affect overall operational efficiency level of the company. It is
essential for the CEO that to coordinate with staff members well and listen their views. This is
the beneficial tool through which individual can get to know about innovative ideas and
perception of workers (Erisman, 2015 pp.151-154). This helps in enhancing trust level of
employees and they can perform their duties well. They will put their hard efforts and will
contribute well in achieving goal of the organization. By making changes in the system and
enhancing coordination with employees CEO of the company can develop strong relationship
with the employees. This supports in meeting with the objective of entity significantly.
Another issues or factor due to which changes are required in the business unit is that
organizational level. XYZ is the medium size firm which is facing high competition in the
market (Morden, 2017). The purpose of the company is to expand its business and enhance
profitability of the firm. For that it is essential for the corporation that to look at the market
situation and accordingly make modification in the workplace so that it can match with the
requirements and can attract new consumers towards the brand. It is the only tool through which
it can raise efficiency level of its operations. There are many technologies that are used by big
organization, in order to make changes and improve efficiency level it is required to implement
these advance technologies in the workplace. By this way it would be able to resolve

organizational problems. Implementation of technologies is beneficial because by this way entity
can gain competitive advance and can provide satisfactory products and services to consumers.
By this way it would be able to increase its sales volume and would be able to sustain in the
market for longer duration (Haugen and et.al, 2016 pp.1-133.).
Models of change management
There are various models that can support in implementing changes and managing these
modifications in the corporation effectively. SWOT analyses is considered as one of the
effective model thorough which XYZ firm can identify its strong points, lacking points,
opportunities and threats. It is the tool that supports the CEO in making effective strategies so
that changes can be managed in the workplace significantly.
SWOT analyses
SWOT analyses of XYZ firm is as following:
 Strength: By going through the internal and external working of the firm, it is analysed
that company is having skilled employees those who are capable to perform well in the
market. It has strong reputation in the local market. Furthermore, entity puts more
attention on change management so it continuous research upon market and as per the
requirements it makes modification in the market (Rittinghouse and Ransome, 2016).
 Weakness: XYZ firm has limited financial resources, it does not have adequate funds for
expanding its business and making changes in the workplace properly. Furthermore, it is
found that employees of cited firm are not satisfied, they attitude towards the firm is
negative. Stress level in the workplace is too high.
 Opportunities: It is another aspect of SWOT analyses, it is found that XYZ is having
expansion opportunities in the global market. Advance technology can raise efficiency
level of company.
 Threats: Changing political norms, rules and regulation, changing needs of consumers are
threats for the business because in such condition it becomes difficult for the entity that to
sustain ion the market for longer duration.
Change is complex procedure because before implementing modification in the working
process management of the organization has to make effective planning and have to look at the
available resources. Planned changes support in analyses deficiencies of the company and
support in making positive modifications in order improve these deficiencies (SWOT AND

PESTEL, 2017). Change management is not the work of single persons, CEO alone can not do
this task significantly. It requires support of team members, employees so that changes can be
implement in the workplace effectively and overall goal of entity can be achieved. By analysing
strength CEO of the firm can be able to take advantage of these strong points. Weakness shows
the constrains in the changing process. SWOT analyses is the internal analyses tool that assists in
determining the facts and making effective planning for required modification in the business.
SWOT analyses is the approach that can make the CEO of XYZ firm aware with improvement
areas and CEO can take appropriate action to make positive changes in the organization.
By going through the SWOT analyses it is found that staff members of the company are
not satisfied and they have negative attitude towards the firm. For that CEO of XYZ firm needs
to make such type of changes that can supports in turning their mind and making them positive
towards the brand. Organisational structure changes is the one of the best method through which
this problem can be resolved (Frynas and Mellahi, 2015). If company makes flat structure and
involve people in decision making process. That it can enhance communication and people will
be able to share their views with higher authorities effectively. This will develop their trust and
confidence towards the brand and they will perform their duties well. This satisfied people will
coordinate well with consumers and will try to offer them satisfactory services that would hep
the company ion raising its profitability and sustaining in the market for longer duration.
PESTLE analyses
PEST analyses is considered as another change management model that emphases on
external market forces. There are many external forces that impact on business environment. It is
essential for the management that to look upon these aspects and make necessary changes in the
business unit so that overall goal of the company can be achieved.
 Political factors: There are many political forces that impact on overall working of
business unit. Changes in government legislation, international legislation, taxation etc.
impact on the working of the company. In such condition it becomes essential for the
entity that to make modification in its procedure in order to run business smoothly. If
entity fails to make necessary modification in the workplace then it may affect its
profitability and sustainability to great extent (Keohane and Olmstead, 2016.).

 Economic factor: It is another factor that affect company , changes in economic
condition of nation, wages rate, economic policies etc. affect the business operations. If
there is inflation situation then entity is required to modify its operations in such manner
so that operation cost of the XYZ firm can be minimized. If entity fails to do the same
then it may affect its working and sustainability to great extent.
 Sociological factor: It is another element of PESTLE analyses in which company is
required to concentrates on life style of consumers, ethics, gender issues, culture, social
aspects. By concentrating on these factors XYZ can become able to make effective
planning through which it can meet with the demand of consumers (Rosenberg et.al,
2016 pp.1913-1920).
 Technological factor: It is another external component that impact on the business unit.
Technologies get changed time to time, it is essential for CEO of XYZ firm that to
implement the latest technical devices and bring innovation in the business unit. By doing
the same entity can gain competitive advantage and can sustaining in the market for
longer duration.
 Legal factor: Government makes new legislation time to time for improving the market
conditions but with every change it becomes essential for the XYZ that to accept these
modifications and make alteration in the process to run its business smoothly and legally.
These modifications are necessary because by this way entity can minimize complex
situation to great extent (Haugen and et.al, 2016 pp.1-133).
 Environmental Factor: Company has to ensure that its operations do not harm
environment. It has to follow standards to maintain environment healthy. PESTLE
analyses is the main change management process, it is useful tool because by this way
CEO of XYZ company can ensure that what type of changes are major required in the
firm and how these modifications can be managed in the workplace properly.
By using PESTLE analyses tool CEO of XYZ company can identify external factors that
impact on business unit and can make modification in existing process in such manner so that
such type of issues can be faced by entity effectively (Morden, 2017).
7'S model of change management

It is another change management model which is developed by Waterman, Peters and
Phillips. It explains hard and soft elements of business unit that helps in analysing needs of
changes in the corporation (Erisman, 2015 pp.151-154).
Hard elements are those factors which directly influence the company's performance to
great extent. These are such as strategy, structure, system etc. On other hand soft elements are
those factors which are difficult to explain such as shared values, skills, style, staff.
Strategy. It is the change management element that can be considered as planning tool that helps
in maintaining and building competitive advantage in the business unit. If company has strong
strategy then it can support the entity in gaining success. As one of the main issue that XYZ is
facing is negative attitude of employees and it needs to make changes in their structure, if cited
firm adopts flat structure and involve workers in decision making process. Then it would be able
to gain attention of workers and they will be able to share their views and problems with higher
authorities. This change world be beneficial in changing attitude of employees and making them
positive towards the brand (Frynas and Mellahi, 2015).
 Structure: It is another element of 7'S model of change management. It is the system that
defines the way of working in the organization. It explains the system who will report to
whom. Currently XYZ is following tall structure where employees have to report to

managers and managers have to coordinate with top management. In such condition
people do not get involved in decision making process. This increase dissatisfaction
among them and increase problems from the side of workers. It is required that XYZ
make changes in its structure and adopts flat organizational structure. This can support
the firm in gaining success and making people loyal and retain them in the workplace for
longer duration (Rosenberg et.al, 2016 pp.1913-1920).
 System: It shows daily activities of business that is followed by the organization to
engage its staff members. Currently XYZ firm does not have strong interpersonal
relationship with its staff members in such condition people may think to leave their jobs
easily. By making changes in system and offering reward and recognition to workers
entity can engage people and they may feel happy. This would support in retaining
skilled employees in the workplace for longer duration (The McKinsey 7-S Framework,
20170.
 Shared values: It is also known as superordinate goals, core values of company matters a
lot, If culture of the company is good then it can support in managing the working
operations effectively. XYZ firm needs to improve health and safety culture in the
company. Cited firm has to make changes in its culture and has to develop healthy culture
so that confidence of employees can be build up. That would be beneficial in retaining
staff members in the organization for longer duration.
 Style: Leadership currently adopted in XYZ is autocratic. Leaders follow instruction of
company and employees have to follow these strict rules and regulations. Leaders do not
involve people in decision making. This creates issue of employee dissatisfaction and
poor interpersonal relationship (Keohane and Olmstead, 2016).
 Staff: Capabilities and skills of staff members impact on the company. Current
employees of cited firm are skilled enough but entity is required to provide necessary
training to staff members so that their skills can be developed.
 Skills: Actual skills that are required in workers to complete particular task. Higher
authorities to changes in its allotment of worker and have to allot task to employees as
per their capabilities and skills. By making particular changes in the XYZ company, CEO
of the firm would be able to improve its performance and would be able to sustain in the
market for longer duration. (Rosenberg et.al, 2016 pp.1913-1920)

RESEARCH METHODOLOGY
For conducting this research, scholar will take support of interpretivism philosophy, this
would support the scholar in gathering qualitative information about change management. In
addition, researcher will use inductive approach, in the current study scholar will not formulate
any hypotheses, individual will use theories and models for getting answers of research question.
Furthermore, data will be collected through secondary data collection sources. These are time
and cost effective methods and can help in gathering accurate in-depth detail about change
management and can support in evaluating various models of change management (Keohane and
Olmstead, 2016.).
RESULTS
Changes are made so that they are able to develop strong customer’s base. It requires to
have proper support from the side of workers so that they understand the requirements and they
implement the change in positive manner. There is various type of activities that has to be
implemented so as to make their business attain their goals. In each of these activities it requires
to have appropriate support from the side of workers. When management tent to identify that
they do not have skilled workers, then they conduct recruitment and selection process in which
they conduct interview. These are helpful enough to select the most appropriate candidate that
will be suitable for the business. Further, it is identified that there are many conflicts that take
place among workers. 7's is the great model that explains that company is required to think about
complexity, interdependence and fragmentation for implementing changes effectively and
managing these modifications in the workplace properly. Strategy, structure, system, style,
superordinate, staff, skills of each firm is different from other organizations.
CONCLUSION
From the above study it can be concluded that change management is the essential
process, but before making change planning management has to analyses issues and
improvement areas. Once issues have been identified then they have to implement changes so
that company can gain success and can resolve its problems effectively.
