INTRODUCTION
In business terms, change refers to the process of guiding an organisation toward its desired
level of growth and expansion. There are many forms of change, including developmental,
transitional, and transformational. Change management is useful for managing the process and
ensuring that the plan, budget, scope, resources, and communication are all under control
(Aouine, Mahdaoui and Moccozet, 2019). When an organisation implements change, it must
develop a change management strategy in order to minimise the effect of the change while
maintaining key stakeholders such as staff, clients, and others. To carry forward the report, Tesco
is considered which is a British multinational retailer with headquarters in England and is now
the world's third largest retailer. The aim of the report is to provide specific details about the
information about the change by collecting customer’s visions and analysing approaches in order
to make quick and informed decisions.
Task 1- The Case for Change
The case for change
In today’s business environment, digitalization is critical for any organisation. As every
person in the market has a smartphone capable of conducting business online, digitalization is
beneficial in meeting needs and requirements. Tesco has been selected as the chosen organisation
for this mission. It is a British multinational corporation that operates as a discount supermarket
chain, selling its goods and services. Digitalization is essential at this time since a variety of
business functions within the retail industry are now available online (Feldman, Schiltz and
Vaterlaus, 2019). In the case of Tesco, it is also necessary to digitalize its functions because the
retail industry is evolving at a rapid pace, and other Tesco competitors are following suit.
Tesco must incorporate mobile technology within the organisation in order to become more
digitally involved in the future. Here, the business will use technology to improve the customer
experience by providing information and personalization in the shop. The company will use this
to replace its Tesco app and extend it to provide functionality for assisting customers in finding
unique products inside its superstores. This would also eliminate the “scan as you shop” barrier
from devices that accept digital payments through digital wallets.
By that in-store headcount and costs, it will provide an operating model opportunity for the
company. This will also assist the organisation in reducing the challenges encountered when
