Graphic Communication
It is a term that can be defined as forms of communication which are reliant on visual
cues in order to pass a message to other people (Murray, Sandberg, Smith, Deliberato,
Stadskleiv, and von Tetzchner 2018, p.30). It is sometimes understood as a visual form of
communication. It is one of the most powerful elements of communication that is used to pass
concepts, ideas, messages and instructions to others (Thompson 2017, 143). In a single day, an
individual will see from one to hundreds of instances of visual communication when they
encounter signage, advertisements, labels, logos, drawings, and institutional graphics. It has been
noted that graphic communication has a unique ability to pass a message to many people through
a single image which can easily transcend language as well as attention barriers in order to be
accessible universally (Seemiller, and Grace 2018, p.83). These are some of the quality both non-
verbal/written and verbal communication lack. The two are dependent on the wiliness of the
listener or the reader.
Graphic communication is challenging to me since I do not have the ability to create an
image to speak volumes for me. It is always said that a single image speaks a thousand words,
but for me, this cannot be translated to be true. I do not possess a creative and innovative mind
make use of textures, colours, contours as well as shapes to communicate my attitude, emotions
and the message at large.

It is true that verbal communication can be hard sometimes, especially when you are shy
of speaking in front of people. This can be the case due to the fact that verbal communication is
the use of sound as well as words to express or pass your message from one person to another
