Essay - “Children and adults with profound and multiple learning disabilities have more than one
disability, the most significant of which is a profound learning disability.”
Profound learning disability can be termed as a condition which restricts the ability of the
individual to communicate in an effective manner and increase their dependency upon aid and
assistance. It impacts upon the eye sight of an individual, hearing ability, body postures and
movement as well as speaking ability (Monroe, Morse and Price, 2020). It can be said that the
concerned conditions impacts upon the learning and grasping power of an individual. Hence, it
becomes very essential to facilitate optimum services to the individuals suffering from profound
learning disabilities so as help them acquire education and knowledge in a defined and
continuous manner.
Multi agency working can be characterized as a mechanism which allows individuals to
identify the prevailing an upcoming risk as well as promote smooth flow of information within
the service user groups within the learning environment. Multi agency working caters several
benefits and perks to the individuals conducting the learning program for the service user groups.
The major purpose of multi agency working is to improve the learning exposure of service user
groups and aim for better and desirable learning outcomes among the children and individuals
suffering from profound learning abilities.
It assist in facilitating appropriate set of decisions within the learning setting in order to
promote the well-being of service user groups. In addition to that, it also elevates the level of
coordination among the staff which in turn helps in creating a productive environment where in
potential efforts can be undertaken to support service user groups and enhance their learning
experience in a prominent manner (Seaton, et.al, 2020). Multi agency working promote a set an
atmosphere within the learning setting wherein easy access in terms of suggestions, advices,
support and services is provided to the service user groups. Multi agency working contributes in
the formulation of integrated and smart planning objectives. The respective approach to joint
planning and collaborative practices increases the scope for new ideas, reforms, strategies and

alliances which facilitates necessary advantages in the regulation of proposed growth and
training of the service user groups.Multi agency working also provides clarity of purpose which
in turn defines the goals and objectives that the management and staff members would like to
achieve within a particular time frame. This further helps in conducting the process of learning
and development among the service user groups with enhanced productiveness as well as
contribute in their development and wellbeing as well.
Multi agency working helps to build mutual support among the staff members in order to
establish a positive and optimistic learning environment wherein staff members can effectively
optimize upon their skills and competencies in order to impart effective learning to the service
user group. Also, multi agency working make sure that effective coordination is exercised within
the staff members (Verwijs, et.al, 2020). It ensures that multiple opportunities are provided to
them in respect to exchanging ideas, expressing opinions and collaborating with each other in
order to boost the overall process of learning in a considerate manner.
It is quite evident that working with service user groups requires staff members to be
highly alert and assertive within the learning environment. They need to exhibit effective
learning approaches towards the service user groups in order to uplift the understanding and
knowledge of the concerned group and work towards the acceleration of their growth and
development. The constant strive for facilitating improvement and betterment within the learning
conditions of service user groups can become an extremely hectic and tedious task for the staff
member which in turn increases the overall workload among the staff groups. Multi agency
working facilitate necessary assistance to the staff members in order to effectively manage the
workload and focus upon elevating the productivity of learning operation so as to contribute
towards better learning results and outcomes.
It can be stated that multiagency working Increases the degree of motivation among the
staff members as they unite together in order to facilitate the best service possible to the user
groups. Also, when multiple individuals work in collaboration with each other, the tendency to
facilitate improvement is increased to the maximum as every given individual capitalizes upon
its best potential to cater the finest services possible in the favor of the service user groups.The
multi agency working also helps in facilitating prominent solutions to the emerging issues and
concerns among the staff members which in turn reduces the degree of conflict and disagreement
