INTRODUCTION
Abbott Risk Consulting it is engineering firm that has employed 69 employees. Its
headquarter is in Edinburgh. Study will frame aim and objective related to international HRM. It
will prepare questionnaire and will analyses data.

P1 Aim and objectives
Background
Abbott Risk Consulting is a engineering various types of products in UK. HRM functions
of Abbott Risk Consulting include recruitment, selection, performance appraisal etc. Recruitment
in Abbott Risk Consulting is done every time whenever an employee leaves the organization.
Recruitment is the process of hiring the best candidates for the organization from outside or
within an organization, it reduces time and cost. Selection is the procedure when candidates are
selected for further test. Candidates go through various screening, interview, some tests and the
candidate who clear all is selected for the job and firm gives the offer letter. The senior staff of
Abbott Risk Consulting does the selection of employees on the basis of their qualification, and
their skills. Only educational qualification cannot give a job in Abbott Risk Consulting, there is
need to be good in other skills also like communication, hard working, disciplined etc. Training
is given to the employee so that individual can perform effectively and efficiently (Cascio,
2015).. On the job training includes working with the employees in the same environment in
which they are going to work in future with other employees. It include coaching, job rotation,
internship etc. Off the job training is given by mentors or other professional who are expert in
giving training. Off the job training view lectures, case study method etc. It is given to
employees when they are either new or it is given to employees when new technology is
introduced in the company (Al Ariss and Sidani, 2016).
In order to operate business successfully in international marketplace companies are
required to meet international standards. These standards play significant role in retaining talent
and motivating them so that company can manage its workers well. It supports in effective
utilisation of resources by hiring right person on the right job.

P2 Project management plan
Project is all about particular activity which is done to fulfil particular objective. Project
management plan is a written document which covers different phases of a business cycle. It
includes various things which need to be kept in mind while doing the business. Proper planning
helps the business in successful goal achievement and doing work according to the objectives of
the company. Planning includes successfully carrying out various operations like plan initiation,
execution of plan, monitoring it and execution. The responsibility of the manager to assign all
the work to the employees for timely completion of task (Brewster, Mayrhofer and Farndale,
2018). It is very important because it ensure proper planning and execution of project in
systematic manner so that overall goal can be accomplished.

Cost: cost is the most important aspect which should be kept in the mind of researcher while
doing the research. Various cost which the researcher will incur are cost incurred on getting the
data from various sources, travelling cost which the researcher has to bear as he has to go from
one place to another in search of data, printing of various questionnaire, cost incurred on
recording the data etc. Researcher should have proper note of all the expenses. A person should
be sponsored to carry out a research. To conduct study on improvement in recruitment, selection
and training practices scholar will need to invest amount.

Scope: It describes the future of project; it has wide scope. Conducting study on improving HRM
practices will help companies to meet international HRM requirement. By these way firms will
be able to run business in global market effectively. Furthermore, this study will give benefit to
other scholar in conducting investigation on the same topic in the future.
Time: It reflects the duration of completion of particular project. This is the main objective of a
researcher to complete the report on time. This aspect is the most important as sometimes time
decides whether the project will be successful or not. Time is spent in various fields like getting
the data from various sources, time to record the transaction, time taken by printing press etc.
The entire study will be completed in 10weeks.
Quality: It can be defined as standard that may help in getting desired and viable results. Quality
is also important to check before taking the data from any research. Quality in research means
that the data is taken from which sources and how much trustable are these sources and the
chances of plagiarism should be minimum. Quality also depend on the researcher and his interest
in research. Researcher will involve reliable and authentic data into study to get correct results.
Communication: Communication can be defined as interaction between researcher and
respondents to get the correct data. The person who is giving the data should be trustable and he
should be contacted again and again in case of problem. Research should be correct and it should

be able to communicate the point of view of researcher.. Communication can be done by email,
telephone etc.
Risk: This is the hazard that might occur in project and can spoil the interest of entire study.
There are various risk associated with a research. Risk should be minimised by the researcher so
that the project is successful. Various steps should be taken to minimise risk. Various risk in
research are risk of respondent not answering the questions, risk related with funding, risk related
to false information etc. (Stone and Deadrick, 2015).
Resources: In order to carry out this research scholar will need several resources such as human
resource, technical resource, financial resource, time resource etc.
P3 Work Breakdown structure and Gantt chart
Work breakdown structure is a graphical representation of a project or research
divided into different individual task. It divides the entire project into small sections. Scholar
carry out all these activities so that project can be completed within stipulated period of time.
Gantt chart is a type of bar chart of a project. It shows the start date of the project and
completion date of the project. This chart is useful in planning and defining the ways in which
the work should be done. It also shows the dependency relationship between activities and
