INTRODUCTION Hospitality industry has become the major contributor of economic development in nation. UK is generatinghigh revenue from this industry and has become independent sector which pay high tax amount to UKgovernment (Altinay, Paraskevas and Jang, 2015). In 2006 hospitality industry of UK has made turnover of 65 billion GBP. Present study willcover scale, scope and diversity of UK’s hospitality industry. Furthermore, staffing requirements will bedescribed in this assignment. In addition, it will illustrate various issues which are resulted fromrecent development in this sector. Predication for development and trends in hospitality industry will bedone in this report. TASK 1 LO 1 1.1Current scale, scope and diversity of the hospitality industry In the hospitality industry, there are different scopes, scale and diversity determines that create effective results on its operations. They are as follows: Hospitality services: In this type of sector, hospitality industry provides their support to other businesses such as hotels and restaurants. This is because; they are providing several kinds of food, beverages and many other management facilities that are like by the customers. In this sector,securityandhousekeepingservicesalsodevelopsthatcreateproperfunctioning Therefore, in the hospitality sector there are different kinds of segments exists such as travel, events, entertainment, retail, health care, education, etc. In addition to this, in this sector corporatehospitality,governmentprovision,etc.alsoassiststodevelopprofitabilityand outcomes in this sector (Wijesinghe, 2017). Recently, in this sector at workplace of UK more than 2, 00,000 staff members working. In this aspect, more than 62% people are female and remaining are males. They all are giving different types of services to make effective results in the country.In this aspect, there are more than 22% of the workforce staff belongs to 20-29 years. Therefore, they are providing their participation to make effective results. In addition to this, 30 to 39 years age group of people comprises their services that are 17% of total population. It assists to make creative results with association of full time employability. There are also 16 to 19 years people are around 14% people who take participation in hospitality industry. It is the 1
best way for developing profitability and outcomes that enhance targets in significant manner (Denizci Guillet, Denizci Guillet and Mohammed, 2015). Food and service management: In this sector at hospitality industry assistance providing with variety of industries that are develop in restaurants and hotel for other segment. These industries providing there are services that are related with food drink. For example, Hilton, Marriott hotels, etc. In the recent study at 25000 organisations operating their services that assists to meet with the demand and requirement of each customer. Staff also working in this sector, to handle workforce of the market in efficient manner. 90% workforce comprises to develop effective functioning of the hospitality services (Chen, Chen and Ang, 2017). Therefore, it assists to develop effective performances in the nation. 22% total work comprises with 30 to 39 years of people and 27% workforce handle by 40 to 49 years of people. Travel and tourist services: In this sector, there are various services are related in two segments such as travel and tourists. Travel services offers and creating support for expansion of the industry through different businesses such as TUI, Thomas Cook Group, etc. In this aspect, these enterprises can providing different types of services to each person that develop effective functioning in the business environment. In the recent study, it has been revealed that there are approximately 12000 total businesses exists that have association of travel and tourism activities. Staff members comprised staff for developing the activities for private and public enterprises (Wijesinghe, 2017). 1.2 Organisational structure of different hospitality business In respect to develop effective functioning, organisation structure develop in different typesofhospitalityenterprises(Altinay,ParaskevasandJang,2015).Inthiscontext, organisation structures develop for ascertain more effective results that are explain under here: Hamilton’s Boutique hotel: With this regard, consideration require with small boutique hotel in UK market. This small boutique hotel also comprises organisational structure that includes sub categories. It includes two general managers who provide work and set several activities that essentially followed by each person. In this way, one manager need to perform their task for auditing, front desk checking, sales, maintenance, housekeeping, etc. Further, another manage require to perform their task to create administering five segment such as HR, accounting,marketing,foodandbeverages,etc.Thesubcategoryconsistfrontoffice, reservation, housekeeping, laundry facilities, etc. In this way, sub categories need to be develops 2
