CE 3.2 Project Background
CE 3.2.1 Characteristics of the project
I made an attempt for designing and developing a robotic camera that could be helpful in
recognizing the events or persons who could be threat to the country. In manner to make it
happen I have implemented a wireless camera over a robotic body. This design could be helpful
in monitoring the exact position of the enemies that could be controlled by any individual from a
particular distance as it is based on RF technology. It provided me the access to control it
remotely. I have embedded an electronic system into the project that could be helpful in
controlling the position and direction of the device. I designed the metal detector, gas sensor, and
ultrasonic sensor were embedded in the device in order to detect any threats. I have also
implemented transmitter in the device that helps me in managing the information exchange

between the robots and controlling device. These commands will be helpful in controlling the
direction of the camera and robotic body.
CE 3.2.2 Objectives developed for the project
I was performing the leader responsibilities in the project and every activity was
performed under my assistance although my team has played his role with much responsibility. I
have faced situations and heard about the circumstances in which our soldiers and common
people have suffered a lot. I have tried to make this device innovative and free from hassle
including smooth controlling adjustments. I have developed the robotic camera to decrease the
life loss in war and in terrorist attacks considering the sectors where our army or soldiers cannot
reach without any life loss. I have developed below objectives for the successful completion of
the project:
To develop a robotic camera that could be accessed remotely.
To minimize the human loss in terrorist attacks
To provide Indian army a perfect technology, which can enables them to success in every
war.
To detect threat for the country before it could harm.
CE 3.2.3 My area of work
The whole project was no-doubt driven by my team in which I have played my role in the
human machine interface system. The project was divided into three phases, my team member
worked on the image processing system, sensors and I had taken responsibility for the human
machine interface system. I have attempted to make the device with maximum user-interface in

manner to smoothly control the device through a distance of 200 meters. I have implemented RF
technology with the robotic part that could be helpful in ensuring that the device works
according to command provided in the area of 200 meters across the device. This was the second
phase of the project cycle in which I have implemented the FR module that can be helpful in the
transmission of signal and controlling the device within the range of 200 meters.

CE 3.2.5 My responsibilities throughout the project
I have taken the responsibility to implement RF module within the device and test
whether the RF device is working properly or not. I have put my efforts in making the device
much user-interface using RF technology and that allowed my complete access to the working of
the device’s motion. This includes command of moving the robotic camera left, right, move

forward and backward. Different commands were implemented for the different action of the
device. Before the implementation, I have designed the device using AutoCAD and put every
necessary and small entity those were responsible for the proper functioning of the device.
CE 3.3 Distinctive Activity
CE 3.3.1 Comprehending the theory of the project
It was a challenging project in which various calculations are precision is needed for the
success of the project. Designing and implementation of microprocessors and other electronic
elements involved in the project have been introduced by the professors of both mechanical and
little help from software’s professor too. Although it was a much time taking operation various
lessons learnt from the college related to the designing AutoCAD helped in keeping the time
consumption minimum.
CE 3.3.2 Engineering knowledge and skills applied in the project
I have contributed myself and my learning for the designing and developing such project
within the scheduled time. I have used my skills related to the engineering in the designing and
development of the robotic spy camera. Certain software and electronic skills were needed for
the complete deployment of the project thus; I have consulted professors related to these
departments. However, the most contributed statements and advices were delivered my
professor who encouraged me with the project and enhanced my skills through his learning and
experience. I have done testing related to the correct image scanning, perfect user-interface, and
well-functioning of all the parts and tried to improve the functionality through mixing the
findings of researchers and my innovative thoughts.

CE 3.3.3 Accomplishment and task performed
During the lifecycle of the project, I have made rectification where it was necessary for
the proper functioning of the whole system. The design was the biggest challenge and most
crucial activity as the initiative of the project. I have identified the products and limitations that
could have affected the theoretical outputs and tried to keep the efficiency maximum. On the
other hand while implementing RF technology, it was a tough competition for me. I
accomplished the task to implement the technology with the robotic model and the model was
complete and successfully deployed. This robotic spy camera will help the army and local
policemen to track the activities that could be threat to the society and will help them to
eliminate such entities.
CE 3.3.4 Identified issues and their solutions
The range of control could be increased with more enhanced RF technologies and this
could help in controlling the device from more distant remote. Heavy weight was another
limitation of the project, although I tried to use less weight equipments even though, it becomes
heavier that hampers the theoretical speed that could be eliminated in future research
3.3.4.1 Issues
The problems which I had faced during the implementation of the project was the
insufficient range problems. I also found that the speed of the connectivity was slow between the
module and the receiver of the project. The project was also vulnerable to dust and strong wind.
3.3.4.2 Solutions
I used more enhanced and advanced RF technology could be used with high range of
control. Wireless technologies such as Wi-Fi could be used to improve the range of control for

the device. I used the materials for the project were heavy; using low weight materials could be
used. There were certain movable parts, which cannot be sealed. I used lubricants which was
helpful for those parts.
CE 3.3.5 Plan to produce creative and innovative work
I have read some of the researcher’s paper and taken some points and added my creative
and innovative thought to improve the working of the device. I have installed a night vision
camera that will ensure to capture photos in dark too. I have also introduced sensors that could
detect dangerous gases, explosive items, and metal detectors that could be used in local areas to
ensure that there is not any threat in that area.
CE 3.3.6 Collaborative work
I have worked in team as the project was vast and mixing of disciplines, I needed certain
help on certain topics. I have completely devoted myself as a leader and carried all the
responsibilities related to the success of the project. As stated earlier there were three phases and
rest of the team members have contributed in camera and IR sensors implementation.
CE 3.4 Project Review
CE 3.4.1 Project Overview
The thought for the project was to provide my country a soldier whose death will be of no
value and minimize the casualties that affect the country economically and financially. I have
presented a model that could be used as a threat detector and could be used in civil areas and war
zones in manner to eliminate the possibilities of loss and casualties. With the help of my
professors I have presented a robotic spy camera that can detect malicious gas, metals, and
