INTRODUCTION
Developing team members along with itself is the vital jobs that is performed by the
mangers of company. And it is very essential as this is the responsibility of senior executives to
carry out all operation in effective way for the accomplishment of organisational goal in
stipulated time (Geffen, 2020). The present report is based on Tesco firm, which is one of the
leading multinational grocery organisation of UK in retail industry, headquartered in Welwyn
United Kingdom. It has a second largest supply chain of supermarkets. This firm was founded by
Jack Cohen in 1931. They operates their business across globally in order to increase the sales
and profit margin of company. And for this they have subsidiaries such as Tesco Mobile, bank,
Ireland and so on. In the present report a brief discussion about skill, knowledge and behaviour
of HR professional is carry out in order to understand how a HR manger can manage the
structure of company. Along with this, personal development plan and audit is also created for
analysing the skill, knowledge and behaviour of individuals of company. Furthermore it covers
the requirements of continuous learning and professional developed is explained as well as the
difference between training and development is included. At the end, various approaches of
performance management is discussed.

The role of HR manger in this ever changing world become very dynamic. In which the
major duties that is performed by HR professional is hiring, selecting, performance appraisal etc.
additionally the responsibility of HR manger possess is to maintain the workforce environment
for enhancing the efficiency of employees (Hedman, 2016). Along with this another function
performed by HR professionals is to create the communication channels between management
and workers within company. For this they need to possess some skills, knowledge and
behaviour. In context of chosen firm all these factors are explained in detailed as follows:
Skills that are needed in HR manger:
Communication skill: It refers to ability of that an individual use in order to provide or
give different info. It includes listening, speaking, detecting and understanding. All these skills

can be achieved by proper training and learning. This is the key features that manger need to
possess in itself. This allows mangers to coordinate with employees and facilitates them the
required info. This provides several benefits to company in terms of reducing the conflicts that
may be arises due to miscommunication as well as it establish a good coordination among
departments within company. In context of chosen firm their manger needs to bears this skill as
effective communication helps manger to foster relationship among workers.
Leadership and management skill: This is the basic and significant skill that is needed in
the Human resource manager in order to influence the attitude of workers within firm for getting
maximum output from them. This will helps company towards accomplishment of organisational
goal within stipulated time (Kiratli and et.al.,2016). A proper leadership skill will guide and
motivates employees in order to get success and growth as well as for enhancing the efficiency
of employees.
Knowledge which is required in HR professional
Taxation: Knowledge about taxation need to be required in HR mangers in order to
maintain the employee compensation as it deals with variety of tax regulations that has ability to
affects the function and profitability of company as well as command to influence the
satisfaction level of workers.
Laws and regulation of government: It is essential to considered all legislations, rules,
laws for the smooth running of operation and that can be possible only is the HR manger have
appropriate knowledge about all regulation of supervision.
Behaviour which is essential for HR professional:
Equally treating behaviour: In a company there are numerous people who belongs to
different culture or background now it is the responsibility of HR mangers to provide equal
treatment to all employees who are working for the firm with same purpose. In order to maintain
positive and healthy workforce environment HR mangers, need to provide equal opportunities to
each individuals. In context of chosen firm their HR mangers needs to possess this behaviour for
the same (Hawkins, 2018).
Ethical behaviour: Ethical behaviour means the behaviour which applies the principles of
rectitude and impartiality to relationships with employees and consumers. This will aids
company in building customer loyalty, retain skilled and talented employees as well as avoid
