INTRODUCTION Communication, motivational, strategic skills are required to become good leader while main management skills include time management, delegation and planning skills. This report will be in form of self reflection that describes the overall learning and experience gained from conducting study about ādeveloping leadership and management skillsā along with this a plan to eliminate weaknesses of will be provided. Reflection After conducting study on the topic of developing leadership and management skills, I have analysed that various leadership and management theories are adopted by the respective organisation in order to effectively run their corporation. I have learned that leadership theories such as contingency theory help leaders adopt their skills in a way which yields the most favourable result for the organisation. I have learned that it is the responsibility of the leader to encourage their subordinates to achieve their highest potential and maintain a healthy working environment where employees feel valued and are motivated to work with utmost diligence. I have concluded that situational leadership style is a suitable leadership approach for leaders who face different situations in their daily life as it helps them understand different needs of a situation and modify their existing abilities depending on the given situation. I have determined that the role of the management staff at an organisation is to supervise smooth functioning of variousoperationsbymakingdecisionsrelatedtocompanypaperworkandformulating strategies which enhance the productivity of the existing human resources. I have learned that the scientific management theory helps the managers increase the efficiency of each individual employee by identifying proper techniques which help the employees complete a task with maximum efficiency, this is achieved by training all the individual team members various methods which not only enhance their existing abilities but improve their learning capabilities. I have determined that formation of good relations with various members of the workforce help an organisation in developing management abilities, because presence of good employer-employee relations increase employee engagement and encourage employees to complete their work with more dedication and commitment. I have concluded that it is necessary to adopt leadership style which is most suitable for the individual and helps them utilise their skills to effectively inspire a group of people to work for the completion of a common goal for the growth and development of their organisation.
