INTRODUCTION Employment skills can be defined as technical and interpersonal skills of an individual that are essential to make them employable. Communication skills, learning attitude and discipline are some very important skills. The competition for grabbing a job is rising these days, so it is very important for each and every individual to develop skills which are beneficial from employment point of view. In Health and Social Care (HSC) units, it is very crucial for all the employees to encompass special skills in order to handle patients effectively This assignment is based on responsibilities and performance objectives at work. P1.1 and M1 Develop a set of own responsibilities and performance objectives at work. In HSC units, the prime motive of all the workers and employees is to provide comfort and convenience to the patients or people who are living there. In such sector team work, proper communication skills and sense of responsibility is very important for the employees to ensure comfort stay for all the individuals who are living there. Handling social and health care unit is a job of big bound authority. All the staff members and employees who are working there need to follow set of rules and regulations in order to fulfil the expectations of the care unit visitors. Being an employee at National Health Service (NHS), it is my responsibility to handle all the circumstances and situations efficiently in order to satisfy the patients who are staying there. Maintaining stability is very critical for such organisations. The main objective of this firm is to help people and satisfy their needs for providing better and healthy life to them. In health and care centres like NHS, it is very predominant for every individual to encompass some sort of skills so that they can handle unpredictable situations or emergencies (Collet, 2015). The performance objective of such organisation revolves around coordination, orientation and supporting each other in various situations. P1.2 and D1 Evaluate own effectiveness against defined objectives. Every employee should work beyond the set lines of objectives in order to give their full potential to the organisation. The criteria of assessing the performance are based on target achievement, maximum satisfaction of the patients and statement visions. For upgrading level of performance, it is important for the employee to work more efficiently and effectively. In organisations like National Health Service, it is important for all the employees to develop sense of responsibility among them to ensure the comfort and satisfaction of the members who are staying in the care unit. Motivation is very important in such organisations to keep the morale 1
high of each and every member so that they work as per the desired norms. Training and development program for the employees is important for the betterment of the patients which will ensure high end growth in level of performance. As an employee in NHS, it’s my duty to evaluate performance of other employees on my own for the enhancement of the care unit (Cottrell, 2015). P1.3 Recommendations and Improvements In organisations like National Health Service, it is very important for employees and workers to develop sense of responsibility among them so that they can conduct their duties in such a way that it can be beneficial for both employees and individual. While developing teams and groups in such organisations, it is very important for their managers and leaders to implement it in such a way that every individual in a team encompass one special ability or skill. This will lead to proper management of the care centre. Employee engagement activities should also be conducted so that importance of team work and social responsibility can be generated among them. For avoiding confusions and uncertainty, it is important to set achievable targets(Benson, 2014). The role, objectives and responsibilities of each and every employee and worker must be well structured so that it becomes easy to attain them. The assessment of improvements should be transparent for providing clear vision of work to the employees. P1.4 Motivational techniques to improve quality of performance. Performance of the employee is directly related to the level of motivation. The employees who are motivated towards the firm give their full potential in its growth and development. In organisations like NHS, it is very important for them to motivate their employees for ensuring proper care of their patients. The main motive of such organisations is to provide satisfaction and comfort to their members. These are non-profit organisations whose core motive is to take care of visitors and that can be done by motivating employees towards their goals and responsibilities. When the person is satisfied, the sense of responsibility comes from within towards their job and objectives. According to Maslow's hierarchy, motivation depends on five stages: Physiological needs, safety needs, personal needs, self-esteem and self-actualisation. Physiological needs:Basic needs like food, water and shelter. Maslow in his theory, states that fulfilment of basic needs is very important of an individual to keep them motivated towards their life. 2

The priorities and centre point of every individual’s life should be set so that they can conduct their tasks in desired manner. Onemoreimportantaspectis,notinterruptingineachother’slivesandworks. Competition of a work in a desired time and in an assigned manner is very important for 3
conducting activities efficiently (Guest, 2015). 1 task = 1 individual, when so many people are indulged in a same activity it lead to the delay in completion of that particular task. SMART Principles: Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Realistic, Time bound.Specific: Well defined goals and objectives. Whenever the organisation is going to start a new task it is important for them to construct a plan for the desired goals and objectives.Measurable:List of all the resources which are required to accomplish the goal is important for the organisation. Achievable:it is important for the organisation to set realistic goals and objectives for their employees.Realistic:The nature of the project is directly related to its time of completion. Time bound:The task should be submitted within the day of submission. Benefits of effective time and management: It helps to create focus on important tasks. It helps in saving time. It helps in making effective and efficient decision making. P3.1 Roles people play in a team and how they can work together to achieve shared goals. Each and every individual in a team plays a very important role for accomplishing organisational goals and objectives. Team is a group of people who are working together in such a way that they can conduct their tasks and activities without hammering rights and interests of each-other. A particular role is played by each and every individual of the team. It is important for the managers to keep check on working of each and every individual so that they can identify that they are conducting their task in a desired manner. For the efficient working of the team, it is important for all the team members to conduct their activities effectively. It should act as support system for each other. The development of the team is depends upon their leaders, qualifies and effective control units are must for the execution of the team which work according to the norms (Jackson, 2015). Their main aim is to conduct optimum utilisation of the resources in order to ensure the organisational profits. In the organisations like National Health Services team work is very important for providing comfort and satisfaction to their patients. It’s their keen area of focus. Their workers are trained in such a way that they are always ready to help each other in several circumstances and situations. 4
Bruce Tuckman Theory:His theory is based on the concept of forming, storming, norming and performing. This theory states that this approaches are beneficial in understanding importance of team work and for ensuring high performance. Belbin Theory of Team Roles:This theory states that every individual understands team work in a different way. According to him, the team work depends upon the way individuals behave for underlying success of the team. P3.2 Examine team dynamics. A group is a collection of people who work together for achieving common goal or objective. Team work helps in attaining aims of the organisation in a more efficient manner. In any firm working together as a team is mostspecificobjective(Loughry,2014).The performance criteria of whole team depend upon the execution of tasks by each and every individual. The team is based on two types of groups:formal and informal groups. In organisations like National Health Service, the purpose behind creating a formal team is that they are the one with special technical and interpersonal skills and have ability to solve each and every problem. When people work together for a long period of a time, they start developing certain emotions and consideration for each other. In such cases, development of informal groups takes place. 3.3 Ways to complete tasks and achieve team goals There are number of factors through which an ineffective team can convert into effective team. Some common factors for effective team are: Diversity:Different forms of culture, talents and personalities are example of diversity in a team. This factor can help team in providing innovations and creativity in their ideas and thoughts. Communication:Lack of communication is a biggest problem for each and every team. Effective team can be build up by filling communication gap. Team members have to make sure that they convey everything properly to each other. Leadership:Working of an effective team depends upon their leader. The way he leads the team is very important factor for the successful execution of the work done by that team. 5

In National Health Service organisation, two workers who are taking care of the patients of room number 67 C have developed sense of jealousy and disrespect for each other. The other co-workers are complaining that they are also tend to demean each other. The effect of their behaviour is coming on the duties and responsibility of other workers also (Ibarraran, 2014). As an employee manager at National Health Service organisation, first of all my duty is to hear the problem these both workers are facing. Why they are behaving in such a manner. After hearing the whole problem my second duty is to find out the main reason behind the problem so that effective solution can be implemented. Jealousy is feeling which takes place when work of one individual is better than the other one (Quendler, 2016). So, it’s my major responsibility to solve their issue in order to make them work as per desired manner. This is possible with the help of negotiation process. P2.2 and M3 Solving problem Communication can be of variety of patterns: Face to face communication, it is the process of interacting with each-other directly. Email: By sending and receiving email one can conduct process of communication. Text: For conducting process of communication individuals can send text messages to each other. Notice / Bulletin board: Whenever the information is of common interest of large number of people then notice/ bulletin boards are used to pass the information. Electronic Medium: With the help of electronic medium such as telephone, fax and Skype one can transfer information globally. Given case can be solved by effective communication process. P4.1 Appropriate tools and methods for developing solutions. Communication is very important skill for the development of an individual as a whole. It is an interpersonal skill which helps an individual to keep his viewpoints in front of the other confidently. Lack of effective communication skills is considered as problem because it enables an employee to convey his messages and desires (Dowling, 2015). Time management is very important skill for each and every employees the completion of work in a given time and in a desired manner is crucial. Time management skills are considered as a problem solving skill of an individual (Rosen, 2014). 6

It is very essential for the group of individuals to make the optimum utilization of resources to conduct management activities effectively. A group of people from different cultures and traditions who work together in such a manner that their goals and objectives are tend to be common (Valentine, 2015). This can be termed as diversity. In organisationlike NationalHealth Service,itisvery importantto followsuch approaches. It is essential because the prime and only motive of such organisations is to provide comfort and satisfaction to the persons who arestaying there for betterment of their health and lives. P4.3 and D2 Evaluate impacts of implementing strategy in HSC sector. For organisation like National Health Service, the one and only motive is to ensure comfort and joy of the individuals. Such sectors are non-profit organisations and they only work to provide secure life and health to their members. By implementing strategies this can be ensure that the main purpose of the organisation does not get hammered by the employees or other workers. HSC units are very big responsibilities and it is very important for each and every individual who are working there to understand their roles and objectives to work as per desired norms. CONCLUSION From the above assignment, it can be concluded that in HSC units, it is very important for all the employees and workers to conduct their duties with full responsibility in order to provide comfort and satisfaction to the people who are living there. It has also been seen that such organisation require team work to run efficiently. 7
