For resolving work-based problem which arisen in National Trust amongst Visitor
Welcome team, managers made use of motivation techniques and effective communication
channels. Manager encourages personnel’s in positive manner for making them work more
appropriately and bringing their effectiveness. Also, in order to motivate employees, managers
made use of their effective communicative skills, exchanging all required information in proper
manner, by addressing all complaints.
Take responsibility for managing and organizing activities
It is the job role and responsibility of a manager to keep a balance between work and time
available to them for accomplishing all objectives and performing their level best. Time-
management techniques are used by National Trust manager for keeping balance, completing all
tasks in given time frame and attaining all organisational goals and objectives in an effective and
efficient manner. Along with it Belbin and Tuckman team developing theories are also used for
resolving conflicts, building cooperation and organizing teams.
Determining effective time-management techniques and strategies
Time is another essential factor determining the success, growth and profitability of an
organisation. The top level management are responsible for managing overall working time of
company and the small managers who are present at different stages are responsible for managing
their team’s tasks and small objectives. This states that time management skills is a necessar y skill
which is required by an individual or especially by manager for maintaining their work and
organisation successfully. Time management technique which is used by National Trust, Visitor
Welcome managers are as follows:
Prioritising workload- The first step states that the manager of National Trust will set their priorities
according to the nature of work and time span. It is an essential action of prioritizing work
according to its impact it has over business.
Setting work objectives- This stage related to setting achievable performance objectives in order to
fulfil all task according to their preference and for successful working of entity.
Making and keeping appointments- According to this phase, the managers will make their
schedules and keep up to it. The National Trust manager will make appointments with their Guest
and accordingly serve them, making sure that they render their services to people appropriately
(Bates and et. al., 2019).
Working steadily rather than erratically- This stage expresses that the managers have to plan their
tasks in accordance with the current scenario and situations rather that by any predictions. This will
enhance their speed of performing tasks and reduces wastage.
Reliable estimate of task time- After performing all actions appropriately, now mangers will set
time period for particular jobs according to their nature for performing them in appropriate manner.
