TASK 4
P4.1 Methods and tools to develop solutions
To solve any problem it is essential to identify the problem before and understand why it
has appeared in order to evaluate the solutions required. Below explored is a six-step problem
solving model which explains and identifies the problems of Travelodge and finds the solutions
respectively:
1. Define the problem: At this stage, the problem in Travelodge is identified and analysed
deeply. This is where one understands and explores that why the problem has occurred in
the first place. This helps one to understand the problem vividly and later find the
required solutions.
2. Determine the root cause: This is the step where the problems root cause is determined
and understood. It can be seen as one of the most important step as the root cause
determination in Travelodge can make the problem to not occur in the future.
3. Developing alternative solution: In this stage, Travelodge develops an alternative
solution where all possible solutions of a single problem are identified and are taken into
perspective. This is the best strategy to find a number of solutions and select the required
one.
4. Selecting a solution: After finding out a list of solutions, Travelodge can now select the
required solution to solve the problem(Valavosiki, Stiakakis and Chatzigeorgiou, 2019).
5. Implementation: This is the step where the solution is implemented. Implementation is
done in Travelodge from the usage of right tools and methods.
Document Page
6. Evaluation of the outcome: This is the last stage where Travelodge follows up on the
applied solutions' execution. It ensures that the applied solution is appropriate and
making the problem disappears.
The above mentioned six step problems solving model explores a number of steps which
Travelodge uses to solve the problems effectively(Valavosiki, Stiakakis and Chatzigeorgiou,
2019).
P4.2Appropriate strategy to resolve the problem of labour turnover
To resolve the problem of labour turnover the appropriate strategy that Travelodge can
use is listening to the current employee complaints. This has seen to be one of the most effective
strategies in order to deal with the employee turnover. Travelodge can ask their current
employees about the problems which they are facing in the organisation. The organisation can
use methods such as taking feedbacks, making the management to ask at what places their
employees need improvement and are facing problems etc. These all measures can help the
organisation to understand about their employee problems and to core reasons that their
employees are leaving the organisation in the first place(Martínez-Cerdá and Torrent-Sellens,
2019).
Listening to the current employee complaints is going to make Travelodge understand
more about the issues that the organisation is facing. It will prove itself as one of the best
strategies to make the organisation suffer less and become more understanding about its
employee base. Along with it, it will help Travelodge to understand at what places it is lacking in
terms of providing its employees with better services and benefits. Also, it will make the
organisation to understand about the future needs and requirements of these employees.
Travelodge is one of the largest hospitality companies in the United Kingdom. Labour
turnover can make Travelodge suffer from losses and will leave the organisation in facing issues
towards providing better services to its consumers and ensuring better consumer satisfaction.
Listening to their complaints will make the organisation know about at what places they should
improve or in what situations its employees are choosing to leave the organisation(Martínez-
Cerdá and Torrent-Sellens,2019). From this, the organisation can easily improve itself and make
sure that its employees are now provided with the required services and benefits so that they do
not leave the organisation.

P4.3The impact of strategy's implementation on business
The above strategy can help Travelodge in retaining its employees in many ways. Firstly,
the strategy is cost effective. The organisation do not have to spend a lot of money in order to
listen to their employee complaints and issues. It can set up a team of few employees that can
visit each employee and ask them about their issues and complaints. The impact it will create on
business is that now employees are aware that the organisation is listening to their needs and
demands (Valavosiki, Stiakakis and Chatzigeorgiou, 2019). They will openly speak up about
their needs and demands and will make sure that the organisation fulfils them too. The business
at this stage is more open and receptive towards internal affairs and the needs and demands of it
employee base. This in turn, can make Travelodge ensure that the operations of the organisation
