INTRODUCTION
Employability skills refers to all the essential skills of a job such as- problem solving,
teamwork, learning, technology, self management, planning and organising, communication.
These are the core skills and traits required by every job. These skills help to make someone
employable. These skills are also called by the foundational skills. These skills help to work
effectively and efficiently. It is a set of transferable skills and these skills are generic in nature.
Travelodge is private company which is operating in the hotels and hospitality industry in UK. It
is the second largest in the budget hotel and the biggest hotel chain in UK by no. of bedrooms.
This file discusses about the Set of responsibilities and performance management. The report
explores and develops a set of own responsibilities and performance objectives. This report also
Identify effective time management strategies in retention to the work based experience or the
role of manager of Travelodge. The report also explores alternative ways in which a team can
complete their tasks and goals, along with it the report tends to explore the methods and tools to
develop solutions to problems in context of Travelodge hotel.
TASK 1
P1.1 Determining Own responsibilities and performance objectives
As per standard/criteria set by the Travelodge in its role of the organisation's manager.
Below mentioned are the set of responsibilities:
Personal Responsibilities (Indirect/Direct Responsibilities)
Personal responsibilities are one of the most important skills that an organisation's
manager should hold. In order to take and ensure proper responsibility, I need to take
responsibility of my words, actions and work-based performance. Also, it is important for me to
take credit of my success and failures both. Important skills that I should acquire include:
Decision Making Skills
Being an assistant manager of Travelodge, it is important for me to take decisions. Also,
while taking any of the decisions it is important for me to keep in mind the organisations policies
and procedures and where might my decisions can take me and my organisation in the future.
Leadership Skills

Good leadership skills can ensure my success in leading a team and providing them with
proper motivation and guidance in order to achieve the overall organisational success and
growth.
Corporate vision adherence
It is important for the manager to be focused on the corporate vision of the organisation.
My adherence to the corporate vision will make me achieve heights and ensure proper growth
and success in the organisation. Corporate vision of Travelodge includes customer services,
maximize profit and sales. I can ensure that I meet these objectives and achieve them as required
by Travelodge.
Meeting all deadlines and targets
As a manager it is important for me meet the required targets and deadlines in the
organisation. Meeting organisational set targets and deadlines would ensure smooth operation's
management and organisational efficiency.
Communication Skills
Effective communication skills will ensure proper communication between me and my
team. Along with it, better communication is going to ensure that there is no communication gap
left and my teams' and stakeholders needs and requirements are being fulfilled regularly.
Performance Objectives
The performance objectives is known as process of goal-setting which enable the
employees of the organisation to organize and plan their work in order to achieve agreed targets.
The below mentioned SMART model explores the performance objectives of my own:

Better customer service It is important for me to ensure better customer
service. This will allow me to provide
satisfaction to the organisational customers and
would increase profitability as well.
Time management Effective time management will help me to
achieve the desired goals and objectives and
complete the required tasks in the given time

Team performance As an assistant manager it is my duty that my
team is performing well. Good performance
will ensure better growth and development for
the organisation and my overall team.
Delegation Proper delegation of the tasks is important for
me as an assistant manager. To increase the
performance, it is important that I delegate the
tasks to my team accordingly as per their set of
skills and awareness.
The above mentioned set of Own Responsibilities and Performance Objectives will help
me in becoming a better Assistant manager at Travelodge.
P1.2 Efficiency evaluation against defined objectives
Self-evaluation process helps an individual to highlight strengths, correct performance
related weaknesses, developing skills, competencies and abilities etc. Below mentioned is my
self-evaluation against the above defined objectives within the managerial standards of
Travelodge Hotels.
