Introduction
Employment relation refers to the term in which employees and employers are obliged
towards each other to maintain better agreement between both the parties (Paring, and Pezé,
2021). This is a program which helps an organization to formulate effective human resource
strategy for the company. For the purpose of maintaining employee relation the employer has
effective strategies in which they are responsible to maintain effective work life balance of
employees with their benefits and pay provided by them and also provide safe and healthy
working conditions to them for their better future. To understand this report and case study
Sainsbury’s company is selected. Sainsbury's is the largest supermarket chain of United
Kingdom which became the largest retailer of groceries in London. This report contains
importance of employees relation in cells vary in order to explain the rights obligations and
duties of employers and employees in the organization towards each other. This report also
contain stakeholder analysis of Sainsbury’s in order to identify the engagement of employees
in the employment relation in the company. This employee relation has both positive as well
as negative impact on the functions of a company.

Employee relation is an important aspect which helps an organization to build effective
relationships between different departments groups and workforce so that the organization
can be able to enhance productivity of their employees (Narayana, 2021). This employee
relationship concept is generally used in large organizations like Sainsbury’s in which it is
very essential to resolve various kinds of personal issues between the employees and the
employer and manage the chances that can be associated of rising any kind of conflicts. This
employee relationship helps to maintain good working environment in the organization and
help the organization to achieve success in the market. Good bond and relation between the
employees provide effective importance and value to the organization that has been described
below:
Importance as well as value of employee relations in Sainsbury’s
Less chances of workplace conflicts: Good relationships between employer and employee
reduces the chances of workplace conflicts which is the major issue which has been faced by
large organizations. Sainsbury's has a large number of employees in the organization and

good relationship among employee and employer will help the company to reduce the
chances of conflicts and enhanced productivity of employees.
Enhanced Productivity: Less complex and good relation between the employees and
employer helps an organization to have a better focus on the enhancement of productivity of
employees which helps the company to achieve their goals and objectives effectively (Jiajun,
and Junyi, 2020). The employee relation in Sainsbury’s help them to enhance the productivity
of employees in the company by providing them effective training and cooperation the
employees and employers have between them.
Retain employees: Good employee relationship helps to create effective environment for
employees in the organization which is a great chance to retain employees with the
organization. Sainsbury's has affected employee relationship which creates a good working
environment for their employees and helps them to retain in the organization and being loyal
to the company.
Effective communication: Effective employee relation is also essential for an organization
to build effective communication between employers and employees so that they can be able
to understand each other point of view and provide effective productivity to the company. It
is due to the effective relationships between employees and employers that Sainsbury’s has a
good communication system in the organization and follows an effective chain of
communication.
Employment Laws
Legislations and laws that are related to the employment in the organisation is very essential
for a business to follow because it is the right of employees. If an organization provides the
rights to the employees then the employees will be loyal to the organization and will help the
company to build effective relations between the employer and employee. If the
organizational bodies does not follow these laws then it will be result in negative implications
on the organization such as anytime the fines and charges and sometimes can result in
imprisonment also. Some of the laws that are related to the employment are given below:
Health and Safety work Act: This act provides for the managers to create healthy and safe
environment for the employees and provide them profit training in case of any kind of work
that can harm the safety of the employees (Opoku, Apenteng, and Boakye, 2021). This act
preserves regulations that are required to be followed by the organization to preserve health
of the employees and find their employees to be an effective and important assets of the
company. In case of Sainsbury’s the company always follows the rules and regulations that
