INTRODUCTION
Employment Skills is defined as those skills which an individual has that make them
employable (Agran and et.al., 2016). In addition to this, a better technical understanding as well
as knowledge about subjects, employers of an organisation set skills which they need in their
subordinates. Along with this, these skills are required for job position in a company and it is one
of the important part for employees success within business surroundings. This assignment is
based on National Trust which is a non profit organisation. This company was founded by
Octavia Hill, Sir Robert Hunter and Canon Hardwicke Rawnsley in the year 1895. its
headquarter is located in Heelis, Swindon and Wiltshire. The purpose of respective company is
to look forward for interest of historic places or Natural Beauty. It is because for the advantage
of nation across England, Wales as well as Northern Ireland. This report is based on determining
the responsibilities and performance of employees. In addition to this, it also described about
several interpersonal as well as transferable skills. It also explains about benefit of team work in
order to achieve organisational goals and also formulate strategies which helps in improving
problem solving skills.
TASK 1
1.1 Develop a set of own responsibilities and performance objectives
National trust organisation has appointed for the job profile of Membership as well as
Visitor Manager for handling area of operations (Assiter, 2017). For performing the my job
profile in effective and efficient manner I required several skills which will help me to perform
my responsibilities and objectives in proper manner.
My set of responsibilities:
ï‚· Personal Responsibilities:It is essential for me that I should perform my personal
responsibility in effective manner that is required as per my job profile. This will help me
conducting my task in better and productive manner.
ï‚· Employment legislation:It is one of the responsibility that I have take into concern
which performing my duty is to be aware about employment legislation and their diverse
section and laws.

ï‚· Employment rights and responsibilities: While performing my responsibility I should
provide equal rights to employees and do not discriminate them on the basis of caste,
religion, gender and other factors.
My performance objectives:
It is referred to those objectives which a company set in order to achieve them in a
specific period of time. I have set my performance objectives for job profile of Membership and
Visitor Manager in National Trust organisation which are explained as follows:
ï‚· Setting and monitoring performance:In order to achieve my performance objective
within time duration of 3 months I will set standards and monitor them properly. This
will help me in performing my respective position in effective manner.
ï‚· Individual appraisal systems: Another performance objective which I need to attain is
to appraise my employees for their work in the form of bonus, incentives and other
appraisal sources which will keep them motivated. Through this, they will able to interact
with clients effectively.
1.2 Evaluate own effectiveness against defined objectives
Objective which I need to achieve for my job profile of Membership and Visitor
Manager, I required several skills so that perform my task as well as responsibilities in proper
manner. Skills such as decision making skills, communication skills, problem solving and
conflict management. These skills will help me to evaluate my effectiveness as per the defined
objectives.

ï‚· Training and Development:In order to improve decision making skills I must indulge in
training and development programme. This will enhance my skills and knowledge
through which I will able to gain confidence. This training will aid me taking
participations in group discussion, debate and other activities of organisation.
ï‚· Critical Thinking: To improve my problem solving skills, I have to enhance my critical
thinking so that I can handle the issues in proper manner. With the help of critical
thinking approach I will able to solve queries and doubts of my guest as well as my staff.
This will aid in developing my personality as well as will also help in gaining confidence.
ï‚· Research: This method will help in overcoming my weakness of problem solving as well
as decision making skills. With assistance of effective research I will able to make
appropriate decision keeping in mind that it will not affect functioning of organisation.
Along with this, it will also be in favourable of my subordinates. In addition to this, it
will also aid me resolving problem solving skills so that I can provide effective solution
to the queries of my guest and employees.

There are various motivational techniques that can be used in order to improve my
quality of performance. These techniques are described as follows:
ï‚· Rewards and Incentives: It is one of the effective source of motivation that is given to
employees in regards of their performance. In order to get reward and incentives I have
enhance my performance as well as skills and knowledge. This will act as a motivation
through which I will put more efforts to improve my quality of performance.
ï‚· Manager's role:It is one of the important part in order to improve performance of staff.
In order to enhance my overall quality of performance, it need the guide and direction of
my superior who will motivate as well encourage me to enhance my performance . Along
with this, if I faced any problem, my manager would help me in overcoming it so that I
can attain my objectives effectively.
ï‚· Self motivational factors:I must need to develop positive behaviour, attitude as well as
thinking in my personality. Having positive behaviour will boost my morale as well as
efficiency towards my work. Along with this, self motivation factors will also assist in
improving my overall quality of performance.
Hence, these are some motivational techniques which will help me enhancing my
performance through which I will be able to do my task in effective manner.

2.1 Develop solutions to work-based problems
In case if in National Trust organisation situation like increase in workload arises, then in
order to avoid conflict, leaders of respective company need to adopt such solution that task in the
team can be managed effectively (Lim and et.al., 2016). As per the research done by leader of
team has formulated result that can help them in preventing such situation. These solution will
help the leader in maintaining healthy environment in a team as well as they will also able to
complete their task successfully within a specific time duration. These solutions which can be
applied by leader of the group is described as follows:
ï‚· Training and Development:This is one of the effective solution that a leader of
respective company can adopt is providing proper training and development. This will
help team members to complete their task in effectively (Luft, 2012). As well as it will

also enhance their knowledge as well as skills which will improve their personality.
Along with this, they must also train their members in a way that they can manage their
task as well as also help their members in completing their assignment.
ï‚· Delegation:Another appropriate solution to avoid situation of conflict due to increase in
work is that, leaders of National Trust must delegate roles as well as responsibilities to
their team members as per their skills and capabilities.
Hence, from the above solution that has been framed by leader of respective organisation
will help them in reducing workload which will directly or indirectly prevent situation of conflict

management of an organisation. With the help of this communication style, authorities of
respective organisation share information with each other.

expression, eye contact, body language and so on. In context of respective company,
when staff of the company are conducting non verbal communication, they are able to
notice the tone of other person with their body language. Along with this, they are also

Time management is define to the managing time in effective manner in order to
complete a particular task in specific time period (Denicolo and Reeves, 2013). As per National
Trust organisation, they have formulated some effective time management strategies that help
them to conduct their organisation functions as well as day to day operations in effective manner.
Time management strategies are elaborated as follows:
ï‚· Time for learning:In an organisation, employees must be given proper time for learning
before performing any task. It is because through this they will able to complete their
task in effective and better manner. In context of National Trust, this company provide
sufficient time to their staff for learning and understanding their task. Due to this, they
