INTROCTION Equality refers to the state of being equal and when the things are the same in some particular way. In an organisation when the company behave equally to its employees and and make any diversity related to age, gender, income and other base (León, 2016). This assignment will explained that how will the HR manger comply with equality and diversity law when they select candidates. Further will defined about the rights that new employees have. TASK 1. Equality and Diversity law when selecting applicants Equality Act, 2010- This act is developed by UK government in 1 October 2010 to provide protection people and employees form discrimination at workplace and in wider society. For example, if in Oscar Recruitment Excellence, when the HR manager select employees for the organisation, they make equality in various factors. They do not create biasses and provide equal pay for those employees who are posted on same position and doing same work. Diversity Act, 1960- Diversity refers to understanding of individuals along various dimensions of race, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, physical abilities, religious beliefs, political beliefs and others. There are various laws include within it such as civil right act, discrimination act, employment and rehabilitation act etc. InOscar Recruitment Excellence, when the manager of the organisation select candidates, they properly follow diversity law so that they can forbid discrimination which can be arise due to on sexual orientation. This act help them to reduce the unethical activities such as payment related issues, harassments and others. 2. Rights that new employees have Different rights of Zero hours contract employees are as following: They have right to request for flexible working. These employees have right to protection towards against unfair dismissal such as harassment, unjustice and others. They have right for statutory redundancy pay (Winchester and Browning, 2015). These employees have right to protection from unfavourable treatment if they work part time. 1
CONCLUSION Form the above information, it can be concluded that Equality and diversity play and important role in recruitment and selection. Because when the manager of the company conduct selection process, they properly follow the process of hiring and create and bias. The use of equality and diversity act is explained in the assignment and the rights of Zero hours contracts employees are also defined. 2
