INTRODUCTIONPublic relation is a planned as well as sustained effort for establishing along withmaintaining mutual understanding within individual, organisation and public (Alaimo, 2016). Itis required for communicating essential information in all sectors related to academics, business,not for profit, government and many more. It is an art to mention details to person, company aswell as other organisations by using media, newspapers, television and so on. This reportincludes brief discussion about Edward Barneys and public relation. It further includesevaluation of Barneys' role in the history and development of modern public relation and veracityof claims.MAIN BODYDiscussion and critical evaluation of Barneys' role in history as well as development of modernpublic relation along with veracity of claims.Edward Barneys known as “Father of public Relations” was pioneer American-Australianpublicist born on November 22, 1891 at Vienna, Austria. He was named among the top 100American influential (Barneys, 1945). He helped in the transformation of crafting press agentrywith sophisticated social science. Edward played important role in arranging publication forUnited State and wrote seminal book on the topic public relation which is known by“Crystallizing Public opinion”. During professional lifetime of such person, public relationbecame multibillion-dollar business. By using surveys, psychology, scientific research andskilled practitioners helped in increasing, moulding as well as shaping public opinion. Headopted various methods which were uncomplicated and helped distinct people to learn the waysrelated to what to wear, how to great clients, how to behave by creating various circumstanceswhich later resulted in application of science. The public relation consultant once organisedcampaign related to letter writing for the purpose of persuading state literature for authorizingsale at grocery stores and within the time period legislatures achieved the objectives.
