INTRODUCTIONHealth and Social Care can be defined as the term which is related to providing theservices which are available to health and social care providers (Definitions for health and socialcare, 2019). It includes both the public and private sector organisations which provides thehealth care services to the patients or users. The following assignment is based completely on thehealth and social care services and it will start with making its discussion on the key factors thatdrives change in health and social care services along with the challenges bring by the keyfactors to health and social care services. In addition to this, the discussion will be made aboutstrategy for measuring recent changes in health and social care along with their impact as well.Further, the discussion will be made about the overall impact of these changes, the responsesgiven by health and social care and the key principles to change management. Lastly, thediscussion will be made about the planning of changes in health and social care along with theways to monitor changes in health and social care. LO 11.1) Key Factors that Drives Changes in Health and Social CareThe discussion of the key factors which drives changes in health and social care servicesare provided as under:Political Factors: These factors have impacted greatly on the working of the health and socialcare services as the governmental rules and regulations for this sector are very strict. This factorsconcerns the healthcare organisations about the policies and procedures of government accordingto which they have to work upon (Barton and et. al., 2016). The change of government couldcompletely impact upon the condition of the health and social care service in UK both in thepositive as well negative ways. It is because the policies made by the new government may be infavour or against the health and social care services. Economical Factors: The organisations is also dealing with the economical factors as well inthe negative ways. It includes the factors such as interest rates, disposable income of customers,GDP of a country, financial situation and many more. So the organisation in health and socialcare services are not in a good financial situation and neither is able to get proper funds fromorganisations such as NHS which is having proper amount of adequate funds with them at lowinterest rates but these health organisations are also not getting any support and help from these1

organisations as well. It has impacted negatively on the working of the organisations in healthcare.Social Factors: These are the factors which impacts upon the working of an organisation due tochanges in the tastes, preferences, feelings of people in the organisation. As due to low financialsituation of the health care organisations, they are not able to provide good salaries and wages totheir employees and this has impacted negatively on the working of organisation as the feelingsof people towards health and social care organisations is now changed (Stoops, Williamson andBraa, 2018). Technological Factors: With the technical advancements in the working of health and socialcare organisations, some organisations have advanced but the organisations who are not wellequipped with good technologies are lacking behind in providing good services to the their users.1.2) Challenges Brought by Key Factors in Health and Social CareThe challenges which have been faced by the health and social care services which arebrought by the key factors are provided as under:Economic Challenges: The organisations working in the health and social care services werefaced by many economical issues which has impacted negatively on the working of the theseorganisations. They do not have proper sources of acquiring funds and what they had were notsufficient in providing good services to the users and these organisations are also not able toprovide wages to their employees (Thomas, 2017). So the main challenges was related to gettingadequate amount of funds for the company and providing their employees with proper wages. Demographic Challenges: The low wage rate of the employees impacted upon the mindset oftheir employees as no one wants to work with low wages rates. So in this way, the health andsocial care organisations were facing with issues that has also impacted negatively on theworking of this organisations. It also started losing their customers as due to the qualitydeficiency. Due to shortage of finance, proper equipments used to provide the customers withproper treatment were not available and due to this the quality of service provided to the loweredand down and this has impacted negatively on the working of the organisation. These are theissues which were faced by the organisations due to changes in the attitude of employees and thecustomers as well impacted negatively on the working of organisations. 2
