1. Describe a process / steps that you should follow when dealing with change
management
The following are the main processes which would be followed by the management
of the company to bring about change management :
1. Unfreezing:
The management of the company should at first create the need in the company to
embrace the change. The management of the companies should create urgencies
among the employees to embrace the changes. For example, the management should
hold meetings with the departmental heads to inform them about the necessity to
embrace the change. The departmental heads in turn hold meetings with their
respective departmental employees to inform them. The employees are informed
about the changes which the company are embracing and the reasons behind the
changes. The department heads also inform the employees about the expected
outcome of the changes. The stage also results in insecurities and fear among the
employees since they are not certain about the actual outcomes of the changes.

These feelings of insecurity and fear among employees may resulting in certain
employees resisting the changes which result in conflicts between the management
and the concerned employees. The management and the departmental heads in order
to lessen employee fears and insecurity should provide employees with mentoring.
The management may also arrange counselling for employees to elevate the fear.
2. Change:
The management implements the change. The management acquire resources at this
stage and provide training to employees. For example, if the change results in
technological advancements, the modern software is installed. The companies at this
stage embrace the changes and operating in new ways.
3. Freeze:
The companies at this stage established the changed ways as normal modes of the
operations. The employees slowly start operating in the changed ways on regular
basis. The departmental heads further provide mentoring and coaching to employees
to encourage them to adopt the changed ways more proactively.

Assessment task 1 BSBINN601 Lead and manage organisational
change
The following are the three phases of change management life cycle of companies:
Step 1-Identifying the change:
The management of the companies at this stage identify the changes which have to
be embraced. It can be pointed out that the changes which business organizations
are necessitated to embrace are the outcomes of the macroeconomic changes. For
example, introduction of new goods by competitors, necessitate the companies to
introduce more innovative products. Similarly, advent of new technology may
necessitate the companies to upgrade their technology in use which often results in
requiring them to change their entire mode of operations. Similarly, passing of new
laws by either the home country government or host country governments may
require the companies to change their prevailing modes of operations. It can also be
pointed out that changes in the tastes of customers may also require the companies
to embrace changes. The management bodies of the companies have to identify
these external market factors which are resulting in the changes and the changes
which the concerned companies have to embrace in order to adapt to these external
market changes.
Step 2- Engagement of the people:
The management of the companies in order to ensure successful implementation of
the changes have to gain participation of the people or the internal stakeholders. The
management of the companies concerned should gain participation of the employees
right from the very change inception stage. This would encourage the employees to
participate more proactively in the change management process. The management
in order to engage the employees roll out employee engagement policies. For
example, the management should obtain feedback from the employees regarding the
change management process. Similarly, the employees with experiences, skills and
knowledge should be asked to mentor employees having less knowledge and skills.
These steps would make the more experienced employees valued and they would
motivate the junior employees to participate in the change management process.
The management on the different aspects of the change management process should
gain feedback and ideas of the employees and incorporate the same in the final
change management strategies. These factors would enable the management of the
companies to engage the employees in the change management.
Step 3-Implementation of the change:
The management of the companies should implement the changes at this stage. The
management of the companies should implement the changes and encourage the
employees to work following the changed methods. The senior level employees
should provide mentoring and coaching to the junior level employees to enable
them to adapt to the changes more proactively.

management program?
It could be ensured that the senior management reinforces the change management
programs proposed by particular employees by communicating to the management
change idea in appropriate time. The management would also a result get sufficient
time to investigate the outcomes of the proposed change on the company. The
employees concerned should also hold meetings with senior management to point
out that perceived positive outcomes. They would also be able to face and answer
doubts of the management regarding the outcome of the proposed changes on the
company, if any. This two way communication between the management and the
concerned employees to enable the latter’s proposed changes are implemented.

Assessment task 1 BSBINN601 Lead and manage organisational
change
The management of the companies can put David Kolbs Learning styles to
encouraging change. Kolb mentions three types of employees namely, the
converger, the diverger and the assimilator. The employees belonging to the
converger category are skilled in experimenting and generating innovative ideas.
The diverger group of employees are skilled in using their experience to take
decisions. The assimilators are skilled in assimilating ideas from these two groups
of employees. The management of the companies in order to bring about changes
should encourage the converger type employees propose innovative steps which can
be adopted to implement the change. Similarly, the diverger category employees
would be encouraged to reflect on their experience to suggest new ideas. The
assimilator type employees should be encouraged to assimilate the ideas and
innovations proposed by the first two groups of employees from implementation.
The management can encourage brain storming sessions among these two groups of
employees. This would lead to generation more disruptive innovation ideas.

The 5 stages as implied by Kubler-Ross Model, indicates that there are 5 stages
of grief:
1. Denial: Denial is the stage in which, one simply refuses to accept the sudden
change that has taken place.
2. Anger: It is the stage in which people normally get angry with the sudden
change and tend to overlook it completely.
3. Bargaining: It is the third stage, in which one has to be able to do whatever
he or she can, just to be able to make sure that the pain is alleviated.
4. Depression is the fourth stage in which, one starts to look at the reality of the
change, and gets upset with it.
5. Finally comes the acceptance stage, in which, people tend to simply make
sure that the change in their daily lives is accepted and obeyed.
