Gender Inequality and Solutions for Women Empowerment in Society and Workplace

This report evaluates the women's right and gender issues which creates problem of inequality in the whole World. It also includes the solutions that will directly reduce the problems of inequality in the society and workplace. The report discusses the causes of inequality within the organization, solutions to reduce inequality in society and workplace, and the role of non-profit organizations in promoting female empowerment. The report concludes with the urgent need to change the problems being faced by women to deal with social and ethical justice.

INTRODUCTION
This report is going to evaluate the women's right and gender issues which creates
problem of inequality in the whole World. It also includes the solutions that will directly reduce
the problems of inequality in the society and workplace. It further comprises the general outline
of the company's goal and how it can contribute in solving the problem of inequality with the
help of an NGO operating in UK for the betterment of women and their rights (Gray-Beerman,
2021). There is still a long way to go until all women can enjoy all the rights. This report is also
concerned with different ways to remove the problems of inequality within the society and
organisation.
TASKS
A. The three main causes or problems for the type of inequality within the organisation
The main causes for the inequality are explained as follows-
Gender Pay- Apart from sexual harassment women also struggle with asking for higher pay.
Women face inequality on the basis of gender such as being paid less than male colleagues
having same knowledge and qualifications within the same conditions. They earn less per hour
as compared to men. When the gender pay gap reduces it will enhance the situation of economy
as the women would get more to spend more.
Discrimination environment- When there is discrimination on the basis of gender it will lead to
create an environment which will create the situation of discrimination, harassment or bullying at
the workplace. Discrimination environment means when a person is treated less favourably than
another person on the basis of gender. This discrimination will create hurdles in women's
advancement at work and reduces women's economic security.
Inequality- Generally, Women are not able to move up into higher paid positions as quickly as
men. Female employees also concern about being sexually harassed. Beyond sexual harassment
the issue faced by the companies is wage discrimination. Inequality continues around the world
also in United States (Zavalsız and Saral, 2021). Main ground is people are tied to old habits.
Historically, Men were given jobs and eventually promoted to managerial roles. Things are still
changing but its still difficult for them to enter the male-dominant space.
In the case of Tesco, Women have argued that they did not receive equal pay for work.
Tesco is a British public limited company. It is facing legal claim that it is paying less value as

compared to men-dominated distribution centers. Tesco also says that its very hard to make sure
that all colleagues are paid equally. It is also facing legal issues. It will resolve the issue and plan
to close the gender pay gap between men and women. Tesco is also making initiatives to
increase the number of women at the company. Moreover, It is also working on extending the
payments related to maternity leaves and parental leaves.
B. Two solutions that could reduce the type of inequality in society and in the workplace.
There is a need to reduce gender inequality because it is a complex phenomenon which creates
some serious harm to women. Women are still treated as “less than” in the society and workplace
. Girls are given less rights as compared to boys since birth. Girls and Women have to prove
themselves in each and every aspect of life. That's why there is a need to create awareness about
gender inequality in nearby areas or societies. Organisation plays an important role in taking care
of maintaining the gender equality in workplace
Focus on girl education- Millions of girl in the world do not go to school and they are more
likely to receive less education as compared to boys. Education is one of the main resource for
the girls for their better education and better quality of life. When the girls are given proper
access to education this will directly reduce the level of inequality in the society and workplace.
Evaluate and Standardize pay- People should get the same amount for same job and
qualifications that's why women should be encouraged to get as much as men. With the help of
evaluation of their consistency, work and performance (Women and Kaizer, 2021). By
acknowledging it, various steps can be taken like the pay scale be more progressive and on the
basis of equal pay. Give proper value to women on work in the private sector and communities.
C. General Outline of organisation’s goals and organisation
Women deal with issues like access to education, health ,sexual rights, gender violence,
environmental justice. Some non profit organisations can help the companies to promote the
female empowerment in different areas and aspects of life like health , education, workplace,
literacy and many more. There are many organisations working for women welfare and
betterment like center for reproductive rights, world pulse, the girl effect, women's global
empowerment fund, global Fund for women is explained below-
Global Fund for Women works is a non-profit foundation co-founded by Frances Kissling and
Laura Lederer to take initiative for women globally which works for gender equality, standing up
for the human rights of women and girls.

Global Fund for Women works for crisis of women and girls. It was founded in 1987 for
creating transformational change and building the social movements. They work on social,
economical programs and strengthening families. It focuses to develop programs that reduces
overall situation of women helping them in creating opportunities to create a better social
network. This organisation particularly fights for women's right like freedom from violence,
human rights.
The global fund has taken initiatives and their main aim is to bring the meaningful
changes for a long-term. During COVID-19 the organisation increases its contribution in support
of covid patients, recovery and facilities. It is supported by government, other NGOS,
corporations, individuals, foundations and many more.
Tesco can take the help of The Global fund so that it can contribute more in solving the problem
of inequality to perform better and resolve the issues related to women inequality and gender
issues.
CONCLUSION
It can be concluded that globally women and girls still discriminated on the basis of sex and
gender. In above report we have discussed about the various solutions to eradicate the lower pay
and inadequate services. For many years women have fought and struggled to fight with
inequality and demands to be treated right. The report explained analysis on why there is a
urgent need to change the problems being faced by women to deal with social and ethical
justice .
