INTRODUCTION
Genetics engineering is the key term that documents the process of utilizing recombinant
DNA technology in order to transform or modify the genetic foundation of any organism
(National Human Genome Research Institute. 2022). The topic for this following research is
“Pros and cons of genetic engineering in the medical field”. In early days, humans have
influenced genomes indirectly by managing breeding and choosing offspring with the desirable
attributes. Till the time there is no accurate or precise meaning for the concept of genetic
engineering, it is known as the entire field of R- DNA technology, genetics and genomics. The
reason behind the further investigation into this topic is the changing technology in the medical
filed which has increased the usage of genetic engineering in the medical fields like agriculture,
humans etc. deep research of this field will help in overpowering the benefits of genetic
engineering over its cons making is useful for the medical experts.
Thesis statement
“To evaluate genetic engineering on medical field industry”.
The genetics engineering has its own pros and cons on the medical field industry.
According to the Skerrett (2015), it is observed that there is huge amount of fear and
anxiety in the prospects of genetically modify human beings (Skerrett, 2015). In terms of
benefits of the genetic engineering it has scale and scope in the medical field to change the
human happiness, intelligence and longevity. As per my opinion the genetic engineering is
assumed as the doubled faced coin in the field of medical engineering where this subject causes
harmful effects such as antibiotics resistance, allergies, reduction of genetics variety etc. On the
same hand the genetic engineering also leads to advantage like nutritious food, medical food,
increase the life expectancy etc.
Three research questions
 What are the pros and cons of genetics engineering and how can it be a huge factor in
human development?
 What are the cons of genetic engineering?
 Should genetic engineering's pros leads us to neglect it's risks?
The main body of the research on the topic “ Pros and cons of genetic engineering in the medical
field” will three sections on three different research questions mentioned above. All the three
