It also explains the factors that have influenced the development of the events industry globally. Furthermore, it evaluates the value, impacts, and legacy of a range of global events on the environment in which they operate. The report also reviews management strategies used to support responsible event development for a range of global events.

INTRODUCTION
Events are defined as something that happens, especially when they are unusual or
important in global environment. This is a planned and organised occasion which uses by
different organisations to introduce their products and services in challenging environment and
bring improvements in sales. In other words, it is a predetermined plan which require to be done
at decided venue and time (Morgner, 2017). The Global event is one sector which organised by
organisation for the purpose of introducing something new that can help to attain the business
goals. Under this report, London's Excel Exhibition centre is chosen organisation that performs
different kind of national and international events. The project report covers diversity of global
event industry, value legacy and impacts of event on the environment.
Task 1
P1 Examine the diversity of the global events industry, including its structure and the role of
different types of events in society
The events are as defined happing something in global environment which uses to aware
people about products and services that are important and increases the performance. In the
environment, individuals, group of people and others are planning or organising function or
events for their purpose and objectives. For example, Excel Exhibition Centre is a larger event
management company that organised and manages different types of events as per demand and
increasing the performance. The types of events on the basis of size and scope are as defined:
Local events: The local event are related to community and local regional level that
produce host of festivals and events by targeting mainly at local audience. This event provide
range of benefits primarily for social, fun and entertainment value (Jiang, andZhu, 2018).
Major events: These events are occurred or formulated by using scale and media interest
that are capable of attracting large number of visitors, media coverage and economic benefits.
For example, Excel Exhibition Centre host Olympic games, TT races and others which are
targeted larger customers.
The different types of events on the basis of forms are as explained:
Hallmark Events: This events refers as planning which is identified with the spirit or
ethos of a town, region, and city that helps to gain the wider level of recognition and awareness.
This event depends on success on uniqueness, status and timely significance that attracts larger

number of customers. The example are Carnival in Rio, Chelsea Flower Show in UK, Kentucky
Derby in USA, and Edinburgh International Festival in Scotland.
Mega Events: This can be defined as events which organised at larger level and affects
the whole economy and resound in global environment. Such events are developing the
competitive bidding by attracting people. The examples are FIFA world cup, World fairs, Great
Exhibition in London etc (Oakes, 2016).
Cultural Event: This can be defined as festivals which are universal form of events
which are organised on pre determined date and exist in societies. The cultural events occurred
on the basis of religion, tradition, culture and caste at national and international level. For
example, musical event such as Phantom of the Opera, Sound of Music, Edinburg festival etc.
are contributing in social activities and increases the performance.
Sports Events: In global environment music sector is becoming sizeable and growing
sector that uses for introducing people and increasing their interest to participate in such event.
For example, MICE (Meeting, Incentives, Convention and Exhibitions) etc.
Business Events: This is related to business which are organised by management and
responsible person by involving meetings, conference, exhibitions, incentives travel and
corporate events. This can help to share the information, view messages and others for the
purpose of increasing business performance (Kiss, and ánosi-Rancz, 2016).
Structure and components
Event organisation: This involves entities which are understanding size of event and
organising functions and operation at small level (Wu, 2020).
Event management companies: These are structured for organising events and
managing the each task by performing functions and events appropriately.
Roles of different events in society:
The events are having different types that have own roles and functions which impacts on
society. For instance, Mega events are organising for attracting the large number of audience,
sports events are formulated for the completing the role of motivation by motivating general
public, and music events influences the society for adopting new fashion and becoming the
modern that create large number of people (Cui, Allan, and Lin, 2019).

P2 Explain the factors that have influenced the development of the events industry globally
For developing the event industry at global level this is important to consider various
factors which can influence them and delivering the right services. The Excel Exhibition Centre
is considering various factors that may influence development of event industry at local and
global level such as:
The growth and emergence of event industry: This is main factor which influence
development of event industry. This depends on organisation and planner who wants to host an
event that how much investment they are allotted to organisation for completing event. If the
growth of country is possible and people are so much aware about events and getting information
that helps to develop the event industry. Moreover, political parties and government of different
country is playing important role by giving permission to host the event that leads to
development (Hudson, and Hudson, 2017).
Value and contribution of event: This means new regulations and activities which
brought different types of funding for the purpose of completing community projects and firms
are focusing on events. This factors influences the event industry at global level as they are
contributing in global economy for making it strong.
Demand and motivation for different events: In all over the world different countries
are having different culture and values so they are expecting unique events. Therefore, it is
important for chosen organisation to understand the requirement of their clients for organising
special type of event such as exhibition, games, musical concerts, dancing shows etc. that can
help to develop the event industry (Gratton, and Ramchandani, 2017).
Event history and socio-culture developments – The another factor is history of event
and social culture that is required to consider while organising all functions of event. The history
of performing event plays a important role for the purpose of developing the event sector. For
instance, if an event has organised and managed effectively in past then it create the
opportunities for future of plan more by generating demand that contributes in development.
Employment creation: The major problem of economy is unemployment that reduces
the living standard of people by increasing poverty. In developing the event industry, creation of
employment is important factor that consider expenditure on events that have affected
employment positively. As event industry is require many employees who can manage the
function so this can help to increase the employment rates that maintain development.

Task 2
P3 Evaluate the value, impacts and legacy of a range of global events on the environment in
which they operate
Events are those who touches almost every aspects of people lives in relation to social,
political, environmental, cultural and economical. This is important for organisation to
understand the expectation of their clients and create the good value of organisation by
organising events successfully. The description of global events by defining value, impacts and
legacy are as defined:
Social and cultural: This means shared entertainment experience and culture of people
involved in global events that impacts positively as increasing shared experience, building of
community pride, increase community participation and introduce new and challenging ideas. If
events are not organised properly according to culture and society then it affected negatively
such as loss of amenity, bad behaviour, manipulation of community, and social dislocation
(Roche, 2017).
Physical and environmental: The events at global level are happening according to
needs of clients where people can feel good environment and systematically activities. The
events which are planned impacted positively as providing best practices, increasing
environmental awareness between people, infrastructure legacy, improve transportation and
communication etc. on environment. The negative impacts of global events are environmental
damage as people are increasing wastages, pollution, and noise disturbance.
Political: The main aspects of managing global events is government regulation and
support that helps organisation to host the event successfully. For starting any event at national
and international level there is need to take permission of country's government. For example,
Excel Exhibition Centre has decided to conduct Olympic in London in the year 2012. For this it
is required to follow the legacy and take government permission that impacts positively. The
positive impacts are international prestige, promotion of investment, increasing interest and
improve the profile. The negative impacts due to politics are risk of event failure, misallocation
of funds, changing in regulations and lack of accountability that may impacts on global
environment negatively (GunawanPermatasari, and Tilt, 2020).
Tourism and economic: The tourism and economy playing an important role in
organising the event successfully. If there is good tourism facility in any country then it would be

easy for visitors and participants to take part in events and enjoy them. The positive impacts is
helps to generate higher yield, developing business opportunities, creating job opportunities etc.
It has some drawback also such as resistance by community, exploitation and financial loss
(Marvell, 2018).
Therefore, Excel Exhibition Centre is organising their events at global level by following
all legacy and creating value of understanding that increases brand image.
P4 Review management strategies used to support responsible event development for a range of
global events
In the global business environment, it is important for management to analyse the
business needs and introduce different kind of products and services by managing all activities.
For this, sometime management decides to organise the event and function which uses to aware
people regarding new products. For instance, Excel Exhibition Centre is event organiser at nation
and international level by formulating plans and using different resources which are important to
manage the task. It is required for management to use the effective management strategies that
can support event development for range of global events. The description of management is
defined by management of Excel Exhibition Centre are as defined:
Corporate environmental management model: This can be defined as management
strategy which uses to develop the event successfully. This model provide the opportunities for
maintaining co-modernism and eco- efficiency by organising the events in efficient manner.
Such as larger organisation are contributing in sustainable development by informing customers
regarding their products and services which increases awareness and make decision to buy. The
Excel Exhibition Centre has used this strategy for maintaining sustainable development by
conducting various events at affordable cost that helped to take larger part in global environment
development (Serfointein, and Govender, 2020).
Balance scorecard: This is another technique which can be uses for creating a system by
measuring the organisational performance. This provides many solution for breaking down
objectives and improve the efficiency of workings. The importance of strategy is to break down
the objectives and making easier for management and employees to understand. In other words,
balance scorecard is a strategic planning that uses by chosen organisation for communicating that
what they are trying to accomplish, align the day to day work, give priority to work and

measuring the process of event that helps to support the global events (Murzinov, and Zhubreva,
2017).
Method of identifying and managing community: This strategy is related to be
responsible for global events by formulating plans and implement them in organisation
effectively. The management of Excel Exhibition Centre is responsible to identifying needs and
managing the community by organising events properly that increases awareness between people
and develop interest to take part in such events (Chaouk, Pagliari, and Moxon, 2020).
The economic impacts studies consider expenditure which are incurred by visitors from
outside the region, capital expenditure on facilities that require to conduct event and expenditure
incurred by event organiser for developing the understanding of people and managing all
functions effectively.

CONCLUSION
From the above it can be concluded that events are having different types which are
conducting on the basis of size, structure and requirement. This is important for organisation to
understand the needs and manage the events which can help to increase understanding. Local,
Major, social, Mega and business events are organised for different purpose.
